My wife and I took on a church when we were living in Auckland which we then pastored for a number of years. I had been looking to get more involved in Digital Business and hadn't planned on pastoring a church. The existing leaders at the time stepped down and we found ourselves with a group of over 100 people who wanted to see the church continue. The focus of the church was to help people Encounter God, Find Community, Discover Purpose and Make a Difference. 

There's a bit of a story involved but in short, we took things on and journeyed together. You never know where life will take you and this has been another chapter to our story that we are very grateful for. 

Part of stepping back into business was that we felt we were to care for people for a season and then transition to new leaders. 

For me the desire to work with people in business remained. Working out that transition of an organisation and moving into this new season has been one of the most challenging and rewarding in my life. 

I've learned a lot about big seasons, identity, courage and purpose. Many more lessons to be learned & if you're in a season of change....keep going, and have good people around you. :)

In 2020, I launched my first business and focused solely on LinkedIn to get clients. I dedicated hundreds of hours to optimising my profile, content, connections, DMs, and webinars to grow the business.

I landed clients within weeks BUT....I was trying a bit of everything. 

- Connections when I thought about it 
- Posts when I felt inspired 
- Lots of DMs without a strategy 
- Relying on inspiration and effort 

I needed to turn it into a repeatable system.

So I started refining my systems and processes to focus on the 20% that gets 80% of the results. 

And it worked. Others started asking how I was doing it. 

They shared their struggles: 

→ Meaning to be more intentional on LinkedIn
→ Relying on referrals but not know how to 'get' clients
→ Not sure how to show up online in a way that's authentic to them
→ Not sure what or how to post to make it engaging
→ Unclear how to grow your audience while still running your biz

In short - they also needed a system that worked. 

So I started teaching what I had learned. Founders I taught loved the strategy but found the main problem wasn't knowing what to do - it was actually doing it.

Caravan life + homeschooling + AI yesterday. 
Our 6 year olds homework was to tell a story that had characters (she chose a boy and his dog), in a scene (she chose 'poppy town'), who had a problem (dog running away), that they then solve....(oh the adventures!!) 

She loved telling it. 
I wrote it down on the computer.

Then asked....would you like to pictures for your story?

They squealed with excitement. Yeeeees! 

1. I put the story into chatgpt and asked it to select where to break the story for images, and what the images should be 
2. Put those image prompts into Nano Banana on Gemini 
3. This was the output 

(Didn't have the patience to prompt to sort out some of the minor image tweaks like the boys eyes 👀)

I then recorded on mac with a voice note, me reading the story, and can scroll through the images as it's read. 

The other kids are super excited to have their turns to make up a story. 

Anyway....

Dad had a bit of fun, and the kids loved bringing it all to life. 

I could see the verbal AI prompting for kids too...."not the image like this, make it more like that." 

No replacement for drawing and making their own pictures, but enjoyed mixing it up too.
