I am an industry analyst, researcher, educator, and technology analyst covering all aspects of corporate HR, training, talent management, recruiting, leadership, and workplace technology.

I was the founder of Bersin & Associates, which then became Bersin by Deloitte. Since leaving Deloitte in 2018 I now lead The Josh Bersin Company and The Josh Bersin Academy, the world's professional development destination for HR.

I am a keynote speaker and advise HR teams and vendors in the HR space, and also serve as an educator, thought leader, and personal coach to HR and business leaders around the world.  

My professional goal is to make work life better around the world by helping HR professionals and teams learn, stay informed, and develop deep expertise on world-leading practices that help their companies.

ADP Job numbers for November show drop of 32K jobs, with huge drop in jobs in companies with less than 50 employees (-130K from that group) with larger companies hiring. Professional services took the biggest hit.

To me this indicates two things: large business “hiring power” is high while small business is low, indicating more and more market concentration in big companies (a long term trend in US). 

Second, small companies are the innovators and we innovators are getting skittish or perhaps suffering from tariff or other challenges. And AI may be scaring accounting, search, and other smaller professional services firms.

Also job-changer pay premium (the raise job changers see) dropped, also indicating that people are not willing to change jobs and wages may just be slowing as businesses spend more money on AI or hold back.

Not totally a positive story but let’s see what next month shows. BLS data is absent and may not be accurate these days.
