Scaling outbound sales for European B2B SaaS teams | CRO & Co-Founder @ Crono

⏳ Building something great takes 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.

I remember a breakfast last year with Claudio Erba.
He was telling me about the early days of Docebo and how long it took them to reach their first €𝟭𝗠 in #ARR.

❌ It wasn’t fast.
❌ It wasn’t sexy.

And yet, while many others failed along the way, they ended up building one of the most important #IPOs ever achieved by 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀.

Today I see a lot of #founders obsessed with speed.

💰 Pre-seed, seed, Series A, one round after another, just a few months apart. Rounds closed even when they’re not really needed.

But building a platform is not a sprint.
It’s a f***ing marathon.

And maybe what’s missing the most in the #startup world today isn’t ambition, capital, or talent, but 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁.

💭 Since the day we started building Crono, I’ve always had this moment in my head.

Seeing our 𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗼 on the website of a global #SaaS player.

Today, seeing the Crono logo live on the new ChartMogul website made me smile. The kind that hits you after years of work.

Not because of the logo itself.
But because of what it represents.

🗓️ Months (and years) of building, breaking things, fixing them, saying no to shortcuts, and obsessing over doing things the right way, even when no one was watching.

This isn’t a partnership announcement.
It’s a signal.

A signal that when you focus on product, execution, and long-term thinking, eventually the ecosystem notices.

Step by step. Brick by brick.
We’re just getting started.

Honestly, I didn’t, so thanks to Andrea Romiti for the heads-up.
Always nice to start the week with messages like this (and even better to find friends like Michael Saruggia and Vincenzo Belpiede back on the podium).

This also gave me an excuse to jump back into #Favikon after a few months. And I loved it.

📝 Two years ago, almost no one believed in Crono.

Today, we’re sharing our story in a new “5 Qs with…” interview with our lead investor SFC Capital.

Stephen Page, Joseph Zipfel, Michael Theodosiou and the entire SFC Capital team were the very first to believe in us, back when Crono was still just a bold idea and a lot of uncertainty.

🙏 They led our Pre-Seed round, and if today we’re where we are, if Crono is now considered one of the leading platforms for B2B Sales teams in Europe, we truly owe them a massive thank you.

The journey is still long, but every now and then it’s worth looking back and sharing how far we’ve come. Personally, this brought back so many great memories (and a few very rough ones too 😅) from the past two years together.

🍝 𝗧𝗢𝗣 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗦𝗔𝗔𝗦 𝗣𝗘𝗢𝗣𝗟𝗘 𝗜𝗡 𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗬

Un anno fa ho pubblicato qui su LinkedIn un post identico a questo con un obiettivo molto semplice: dare visibilità alle persone che stavano davvero facendo crescere l’ecosistema #SaaS italiano.

E soprattutto, erano nate (tante) connessioni reali.

Dopo la pubblicazione infatti, molte delle persone citate hanno iniziato a conoscersi, scriversi, collaborare e incontrarsi dal vivo. Durante l’anno abbiamo anche organizzato diversi momenti di networking proprio per trasformare quella lista in relazioni concrete.

Ieri, partecipando a un grande evento organizzato da Italian Founders Fund (Lorenzo Franzi) in Talent Garden a Milano, mentre ascoltavo gli speech di Giulia Marchegiani di Eurazeo e Alessandra Mazzilli di Earlybird Venture Capital, mi sono trovato letteralmente immerso in una nuova generazione di Founder italiani di soluzioni SaaS che non conoscevo. E mi sono reso conto di una cosa:

👉 sta emergendo una nuova generazione di founders / VCs / Media / Enablers SaaS italiani. Ed è davvero fortissima.

📬 È quindi arrivato il momento di aggiornare questa lista.

Two signals from the last few days:

G2 acquiring Capterra, Software Advice, and GetApp (from Gartner)
 → software discovery + reviews + taxonomy + intent are consolidating
 → the “where buyers research” layer is becoming a single, structured dataset
 → in an AI-driven buying journey, distribution increasingly looks like trusted data surfaces (not just ads)

Clay pushing Ads as an export destination
 → enrichment + identity resolution + intent → directly into LinkedIn / Meta / Google audiences
 → performance teams get higher match rates, ABM becomes less guesswork
 → the “how we activate demand” layer is becoming programmable

The conclusion: we’re watching the stack rewire around 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆 + 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 + 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁.

What this means in practice:
◾ Reviews aren’t just social proof anymore → they’re training data for how buyers (and AI) shortlist vendors.
◾ Ads aren’t just targeting anymore → they’re the activation layer of your GTM data pipeline.
◾ “Brand vs performance” is a fake split when the system is full-funnel and continuously learning.
◾ The competitive edge shifts from having more tools → to having the cleanest connections between them.

If you’re building #GTM in 2026, the playbook starts to look like:
◾ capture intent earlier (site + ecosystem)
◾ unify identity across channels
◾ feed structured signals into both organic discovery (reviews/AI) and paid activation (ads)
◾ measure outcomes end-to-end, not per channel

Marketing is becoming an 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺.
Campaigns are just one of its outputs.
