What should you do if you find yourself in a toxic workplace?

The simplest answer would be:
Leave.

However, we live in the real world,
and not everyone can quit right away.

So here's a plan:

1) Identify what keeps you in this toxic workplace:

salary, comfortable conditions, a friend-coworker, etc.

2) Consider how you can change what binds you.

For example, start saving money, monitor job vacancies in other companies, or discuss a joint job change with a friend.

3) Seek help and support.

Friends and family can provide support and assist you in finding a new job.

4) Set boundaries.

Do not let others encroach on your non-working time or exceed your duties.

5) Leave peacefully.

Avoid creating conflict with a toxic team or manager. 
Your future employer may seek references from them.

Remember:

if you don't leave a toxic environment,
