A lot of creators on LinkedIn build a big following 
by regurgitating the same old stuff. 

In fact, some of the biggest creators on LinkedIn 
post the most shallow content.

They follow whatever the latest trend is 
and post only what is proven to work.

It's a smart growth strategy but it's not 
how you build a strong personal brand.

You don't want to end up with: 

A big audience that doesn't care about you.

To avoid this, create and share content that:

1. Triggers a shift in perspective
2. Helps the reader overcome a limiting belief
3. Uncovers new insights from a different lens
4. Inspires a change in behaviour
5. Encourages critical thinking

If you want to connect with your audience (instead of just feeding them information), you need to infuse your personality into your creative process.

It's important to understand that:

While your audience wants useful information,
they also want to connect with you 
as a creator and as a person.

And always be top of mind

Most importantly, you need to develop an eye for good opportunities. 

Know when to help, when to network, when to sell, and when to stay out of it. 

The only way to develop this clarity is to show up everyday and do the work.

Creating emotion and building connection are 
two underrated qualities of great content. 

𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝.

People want to be entertained and inspired. 

And there’s no magic formula for it either. 
You can’t just make this stuff up. 

What you can do however is allow yourself to 
be slightly more vulnerable and open.

This means being comfortable with sharing 
your personal stories and ideas. 

It means being comfortable sharing your 
contrarian thoughts and opinions.

It means having the courage to go against the grain 
and challenging the status quo. 

You don’t have to rebel against everything 
just because you want attention. 

In fact, that is a terrible idea!

But feel free to take a swing at what angers you! 
There’s value in doing that.

Simply be yourself instead of trying to 
manufacture a flawless image.

I just started writing a new LinkedIn post and halfway through, I changed my mind. 

I realised it’s something I want to expand on a little bit more than a LinkedIn post allows. 

So I saved it for this weeks’ newsletter. 

(If you haven’t subscribed yet, well… you’re not helping me live my dream life☹️)

Then I thought, okay great I have my newsletter idea for the week…

But what about today’s LinkedIn post?

So, I made a post about how I was writing a post and saved it for my newsletter, and this became the post! 

(Okay, bear with me😅)

What I’m trying to say is: 

Ideas generate ideas. 

But also, not every idea has to be original, unique, or outstanding for you to share it.

Sometimes, sharing how you stumbled upon an idea or a little insight is enough for a post. 

The more pressure you put on yourself to make great content, the more likely you’ll get stuck, overwhlemed, and frustrated. 

So, let your ideas flow. 

Write like you’d write if you were texting a friend (minus the tYpOs). 

This is how you find your voice. 

Not the refurbished hooks, not the templates, and definitely not cheat sheets about “The Power of Introverts”.

But most people don't know where to start.

Building a brand means getting out of your comfort zone.

In order to achieve that, you’ll need to:


1. Build your network

The best way to build your network is to find ways to add value to other people without expecting anything in return.

If you think two people can benefit from knowing each other, 
then take the initiative to introduce them.

𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪’𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚 𝙬𝙚𝙡𝙡-𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙.


2. Build your online presence

Building your online presence is a must.

It should be your highest priority.

If you’re not actively promoting yourself online and growing your audience, you're at the risk of becoming irrelevant.


3. Leverage Collaborations

Instead of wasting your time and energy obsessing over the competition, focus on collaborating with other people in your industry and creating win-win situations.

𝙇𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙣 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣,

You don’t have to reinvent the wheel or become 
the most innovative person in your industry.

Your success as an entrepreneur depens on your ability to identify: 

– The right problems to work on
– The constraints standing in your way
– The highest leverage tasks to focus on

Usually these three are interrelated.
And they make up the big domino. 

It’s the one thing that if you achieve, 
everything else becomes easier.

The big domino is often the thing 
that you’re avoiding most. 

It’s outside of your comfort zone, and you feel the resistance just by thinking about it. 

That’s usually a good sign it’s 
what you should focus on.

But since it’s the hard thing to do, most entrepreneurs avoid it in subtle ways.

They get busy doing all the other things that seem productive but aren’t. 

They rush to get “more” things done instead of working on the right thing. 

So, it’s important too keep this in mind:

The more you rush the process, 
the more you delay the outcome.

You’re rushed because you’re anxious. 

You’re anxious because you’re not 
addressing the real problem.

You’re sweeping it under the rug and hoping that it will magically disappear.

Except that never happens.

Or maybe you’ll stumble upon the answer in that new book you’re reading or that course you just bought? 

Not how it works either.

The only way forward is through.
Accept that and move on.

To overcome any challenge, you need intense focus and massive action.

You can’t outsmart your problems.

There’s a big reason why companies place limitations on their marketing resources. 

(It’s not an actual lack of budget)

It’s more so a lack of confidence.

They’re not confident that spending more on marketing will generate a positive return. 

This mainly comes down to the fact that you can’t track the return on every dollar spent.

In marketing terms: attribution issues.

So, marketers have a hard time showing how their efforts positively impact sales. 

This is mainly why it’s often challenging to get buy-in from upper management. 

One of the solutions (and not the only) is to embrace a 90/10 approach. 

Allocate your budget spend to 90% of things that have proven to work in the past. 

And 10% for new experiments. 

They key is to be absolutely transparent with upper management that this 10% is for experimentation purposes. 

And highlight the upside that the company will gain if this stuff works as planned. 

Quantify it if you can and have a strong why that goes beyond the immediate return. 

This also applies for agencies or solopreneurs selling marketing services. 

You have to present a compelling argument for your strategy and recommendations. 

And know that people don’t always buy the plan. They buy your confidence in making it work.

So don’t give up too quickly. 

Facing objections isn’t unusual.
It’s simply part of the process.

It makes you think harder.
And be more persuasive.

It helps you refine your plan.
And be more effective. 

Use it to your advantage.
It’s just how it is.
