My biggest Clay prediction

(+ my personal story with Alex Lindahl)

When someone gets on a call with me, sooner or later, this question comes...

'Is Clay a fad or something that will stay long'

Unfortunately, I can't predict the future but I can tell you this.

I see in Clay (and in his team) the same potential for the next big sales and marketing wave that will dominate the scene.

Salesforce was the CRM revolution, it has a unique POV and it successfully created a huge buzz in the B2B GTM world. Huge agencies were built on top of SL and still today niche consultants are extremely highly paid.

Then it was HubSpot time, they popularized the Inbound movement and took over the world in the last 10 years. The Hubspot badge is recognized by everyone and extremely big service businesses were built on top of it.

Well, Clay would become the next big thing in B2B GTM, the AI Outbound Revolution, or the AI Sales Ops revolution since it's a business tool at 360 degrees. They invented their category, raised big VC money from the top 0.1% of investors and the team is truly A++.

Big service companies and consultants are now positioning on Clay (that's why I run a Clay Expert & Claygency educational company & community full-time).

Here’s the process:

I organized a 50-people b2b dinner with Clay

Here’s what happened

OPN stands for other people's network.

It's a well-known technique in the growth space where you leverage other networks for your purpose.

My case was the WMF, The Web Marketing Festival, a famous Italian conference in Italy, Rimini.

Here's the process:

> Buy ticket
> Find the networking area on the website
> Figure out how the page is crawled to scrape it

There was a startup area with all the stands (300+ companies):

> I used Clay to scrape all the pages
> I normalized company name and website
> I scraped all emails on the footer with Claygent
> I found Owners / CEO names and email addresses
> I enriched and verified all the emails with LeadMagic
> I sent them to a Smartlead campaign with a message like this:

Hi, it's Michael!

Me and other startup founders are organizing a startup dinner after the WMF event. 

We are still considering whether the 16th or the 17th of June.

I am organizing everything inside a WhatsApp group, want to join us?

> I created a WhatsApp group to keep al the people together
> I sent the WA invite link to all the people who replied
> I called the biggest restaurant in Rimini since my inbox was full
> I made people to double-verify their participation in a Google Sheet

And here's the numbers:

> 270 scraped contacts
> 30 companies and 70+ people joined the group
> 19 companies and 51 confirmed the participation in the G Sheet

I built my Ad Network on Clay like Meta test Ads

In this case, my client is selling art outsourcing for video game studios.

So I:

You have 2 ways to create cold email campaigns:

1) Demand-capturing campaigns (problem-aware prospects)
2) Demand creation campaigns (non-problem-aware prospects)

If something isn’t already top-of-mind there’s no way to capture his interest with 1)

But you can leverage 2) to book a meeting for a discovery:

How I am using Clay to scrape ESG goals

Claygent Neon is a new entry and believe me, it’s POWERFUL.

It’s tough to get this kind of clean data at scale since:

> They are very unstructured
> ESG pages are poorly ranked
> They are mostly from PDF or PR articles

I double-checked the results and they are GOOD.
