 - Build and nurture relationships with executive-level client stakeholders
 - Hire, train and develop key talent and high-performing teams

 - Built Strivr’s go-to-market strategy for tech-enabled Professional Services
 - Developed the playbook for enterprise-wide immersive technology engagements
 - Drove $30M+ in enterprise SaaS and Services deals
 - Contributed to the launch of StrivrU, a new customer and partner onboarding program

Life / work update:

Five months ago, I stepped out of an operating role at Alto Studios and took the summer to spend more time with my wife and kids.

I did some consulting, built a little writing and training business, and made some great memories as a family. I thought I’d keep doing this for the foreseeable future.

But over the last several weeks, something has been missing.

I deeply miss being part of a team. I miss attacking a meaningful mission with a group of good and talented people. As a friend said to me the other day, “we’re team guys,” and he’s right.

So, I’m exploring opportunities again.

A few notes on my career path so far:

• My background: tech, media, consulting, professional services
• Core skills: management, operations, strategy, client relationships
• 12 years building and leading teams
• 10 years in startup/growth-stage operating roles
• I’ve bootstrapped and built as a founder
• I’ve managed C-level Fortune 500 relationships
• I’ve done a bit of everything on the Customer / Revenue side
• I love environments that value adaptability and “figuring it out”
• I’ve built an audience of ~150k across platforms, which I’m excited to leverage to drive attention and awareness for my next company

I’m exploring a lot of roles and industries, but people matter most to me.

I love working with positive, team-minded people who want to win. That, and the opportunity to learn from great people, are two essential things I’m looking for.

I recently read Ryan Holiday's new book, “Wisdom Takes Work.” There’s a beautiful line in it about teachers:

“Crates’s nickname in Athens was ‘the door-opener,’ because that’s what great teachers do: They open doors to worlds and possibilities we didn’t even know existed.”

Think about great teachers, or great coaches, you’ve had in your life.

What did they do that made them great?

For me, I think back to my college baseball days. I had several great coaches during those years. Sure, they “taught” me stuff. They instructed me. They “coached” me.

But what made them great was they *believed in me.*

They believed in what was inside me. They believed there was more there. They believed I was capable of finding it, even when I didn’t fully believe it.

Their belief was the breaching tool for me.

What great teachers do, though, beyond open doors for us is they give us a precious gift we can pay forward to others.

As we benefit from great teachers, coaches, mentors in our lives, the question then becomes: 

Who are we teaching? 

Who are we sharing knowledge with? Who are we infusing belief in? Who are we investing some of our time into so that their life may be better?

Presidents establish libraries. Entrepreneurs publish books. Athletes appear at camps and clinics.

Why? To teach. To serve. To give something back.

We all can be–no, are required to be– teachers and leaders to someone.
