I'm still not comfortable giving agents full autonomy, but Antigravity is an interesting product to experiment with. It features my favorite model—Claude—which is my go-to for assisted coding.
While I'm yet to see consistently great outcomes for completely autonomous tasks in large applications, I tried using it to automatically build, execute, and run a cron job—and it performed impressively. The information architecture and view are definitely better than Cursor.
The game changer is the Task Panel and the Implementation Plan. This is the next step in the evaluation.
Is it a significant upgrade over Cursor or Copilot? Definitely and it gives so much control as a developer that it changes the way we code now. But here's the kicker: it's free and from Google, making it a game-changer for new developers.
All these tools represent nothing but good news for us users. As competition heats up, costs will come down and capabilities will only get better.
