For the past 10 years, I have helped multiple tech companies (including big tech, startups and scaleups) and investors define growth strategies. This process has led me to sit on boards and advisory boards. It also led me to evaluate the power of social media channels, including LinkedIn, X and Instagram among others. Today, I reach millions of people through my education-driven approach. 

I launched the Scouting for Growth podcast in December 2021 and then pushed the podcast to full swing in 2022. I realized then that only 30 percent of growth ventures received investment from investors, and very few succeeded in commercializing with corporations. 

The Scouting for Growth podcast is produced weekly. It addresses the topics of corporate venturing, collaboration, and investment. Imagine Sarah—20 years, deep underwriting experience, beaten by an AI in 3.7 seconds. The AI processed 10,000 data points, 50 years of claims history, real-time IoT feeds, and social signals. Sarah had one gut feeling. The AI was wrong. Sarah saved her company $50M.

🤔 This paradox reshapes our industry: The more AI we deploy, the more we need distinctly human capabilities.

🌟 95% of AI projects fail — here’s how to break free 💫

I cannot believe how timing works. A week ago, I participated in Allie K. Miller's #AIFirstConference with 1,000 others from 44 countries while the new MIT research was released.

We read the challenge this week. 
"We’ve got XX AI pilots and zero in production.” 

Indeed, 95 % of enterprise AI pilots never deliver a measurable ROI, while technically mainstream adoption has skyrocketed to 78 % of businesses. 

We're living in an AI boom — but not yet an AI boon.

💡 Insight: As you and I know, the problem isn't the technology.  It's the lack of strategy, governance and trust. Too many leaders are tinkering with AI instead of tying it to clear business goals. And we know that employees worry AI will replace them — 71 % fear permanent job loss. Without governance and upskilling, your pilots will remain science‑fair projects.

🔍 Why it matters: Today, every delay means competitors leapfrog ahead: “pilot purgatory” is a recipe for irrelevance. The companies that win will treat AI as a business imperative — anchoring each use‑case to a key metric, scaling what works and killing what doesn't, and investing in their people.

💥  Top takeaways:

📍  Adoption ≠ impact: Most AI pilots fizzle. Only ~5 % produce real value.

📍  Strategy is the cure: 55 % of firms launched 100+ AI projects last year (source: ServiceNow Research, Jacqui Canney and Nigel Walsh), but only 19 % tied them to business outcomes. So, link every AI effort to a KPI. Then scale or stop.

📍  People & trust are the multipliers: 61 % of organizations encourage AI experimentation, yet only 44 % have governance teams. Upskill your teams and make ethics non‑negotiable.

📍  Lead with courage: AI isn't a side project. It's the future. And we must deploy ethically and responsibly. BUT, don’t let fear, complacency or poor planning hold you back.

🌟  Insurance died in 2040. This isn't fiction—it's Scenario 4 from the SAS + Economist report.  💫

Here's why 2024's hurricane season makes this terrifyingly relevant for #ITCVegas.

Remember Katrina? $125 billion in damages. Models called it a "1-in-100 year event." Then came Sandy (2012), Harvey (2017), Ian (2022). 

In 2024 alone: Beryl, Helene, Milton—each "unprecedented" until they weren't. Milton intensified from Cat 1 to Cat 5 in 24 hours. Most models? Still playing catch-up.

The pattern is screaming at us: What Katrina taught us about model failure in 2005, Milton confirmed in 2024. 

The "black swans" aren't rare anymore—they're migrating in flocks. This isn't dystopian fiction—it's a meticulously researched scenario from SAS & The Economist, showing what happens when our industry chooses paralysis over progress. 

By 2035 in our scenario, AI was heavily regulated (thanks to backlash), innovation budgets were slashed, and cyberattacks had surged. The digital revolution we're banking on? Strangled by fear and regulation.

The polycrisis accelerates:

📍 Today (2025): Back-to-back billion-dollar disasters are the new normal
📍 2031: Models fail catastrophically—think Katrina x10, everywhere
📍 2035: AI becomes the scapegoat, innovation dies
📍 2037: Multiple Milton-scale events hit simultaneously
📍 2039: Coastal, crop, health, SME coverage—uninsurable
📍 2040: Not bankruptcy—complete market paralysis

Here's what keeps me up: In 2005, Katrina exposed insurers' model weaknesses. In 2024, Milton showed the sector hasn't fixed them. The Scenario 4 report suggests we have 6 years before the point of no return.

The $1.1 trillion question: Florida's insurance market is already in crisis mode. California's wildfire coverage is evaporating. What happens when EVERY state becomes Florida?

Three uncomfortable truths:
1️⃣  Most insurers' risk models are still using yesterday's climate to price tomorrow's disasters
2️⃣  Every "unprecedented" event becomes precedent for worse
3️⃣  The protection gap isn't growing—it's exploding

🌟 When Two World Capitals Go Under Water — It’s No Longer “Unprecedented,” It’s the New Baseline 💫

In less than 24 hours, New York City and Paris — two of the most iconic, resource-rich cities on Earth — were paralysed by sudden, intense flooding.

Subway stations turned into waterfalls. Highways became rivers. Businesses shuttered. Lives disrupted.

The data?

🩸 NYC saw 5+ inches of rain in hours, with expressways submerged under 10 feet of water.
🩸 Paris streets became impassable after record-breaking summer downpours.
🩸 Both events labelled as “once-in-a-century” storms… yet they’re now arriving every few years.

The brutal truth:

Climate volatility is no longer a “future” risk — it’s an operational reality that doesn’t care about GDP, history, or political borders.

We cannot insure, regulate, or emergency-respond our way out of this.

We need a new resilience economy:

I almost gave up after losing everything that mattered.

🧪 Stand up a Venture-Client pilot: run startup agents in real workflows with strict scopes, red teaming, and kill-switches.

🔐 Bake policy into UX: confirm high-risk actions, blocklists, and provenance checks for anything that looks like finance, legal, or health data.

📈 Map value to latency: pick 2–3 repeatable tasks (expenses, scheduling, QA) to quantify time saved vs. risk accepted before expanding.

👣 Brand trust is UX: disclose agent limits, log actions, and narrate decisions—transparency is the new premium feature .

AI Leaders—what’s the first workflow safe enough to automate with a browser agent and valuable enough to matter this quarter?

Building agentic UX is like training a superb intern in a crowded subway—smart, fast, but easily misled by the wrong poster unless guardrails are clear.

One of them was the recent end of July Harvard Business Review article: despite spending $13.8 billion on enterprise AI in 2024, 74% of companies are still struggling to achieve meaningful value.  I know we have read this also recently from the MIT research piece. And the World Economic Forum  shared recently that “Enterprise AI is at a tipping Point.” 

Meanwhile, the lucky 26% who cracked the code are seeing 45% cost savings and 60% higher revenue growth.

Here’s what separates the AI winners from the wannabes: it’s not about the technology—it’s about organizational resilience. The companies succeeding aren’t just buying better algorithms; they’re fundamentally rewiring how they handle change, data, and human-AI collaboration.

The brutal truth? Most organizations are treating AI like a shiny new tool when they should be treating it like a complete business transformation.

The AI transformation playbook that actually works!

📌 Start with data architecture, not AI models
📌 Build change resilience before deploying technology
📌 Focus on augmenting your best people, not replacing them
📌 Measure business outcomes, not technical metrics
