Recently I was in a final-round interview with the CEO of a US-based performance marketing agency that works with seven and eight-figure clients....

He didn’t ask me to introduce myself.
He said, “I’ve already gone through your CV.”

Then he asked me to show three of my best creatives made from scratch.
I showed him one static and one 30-second video.

He looked at them stopped me and said, “You know your shit. When can you start?”

And that was it. No assignments. No logic tests. 
No ‘TestGorilla behavioral personality emotional intelligence aptitude cultural synergy’ nonsense.

Just skills. Proof. And a 5-minute decision....

Moral of the story:
If you really know what you’re doing, you don’t need 12 rounds of hoops to jump through.

And if you’re hiring stop making people do unpaid homework....

This is a picture of me with my father on my first international tour to Japan with the Under 14 Pakistan football team.

The manager benched me for the entire tournament.
When I came back, I told my father how the coach favored his nephew. He gave my position to him.

My father replied, “Beta, ap coach ki majboori ban jao “(Son, make yourself the coach’s necessity)”

He added, “No coach wants to lose. If the difference between players is small, they can compromise. But if the difference is between 1 and 100, they have no choice.”

That lesson stayed with me for life.

I worked hard enough to make the difference huge and I was never benched again in any international match.

Almost all my old bosses used to complain that my colleagues questioned why I had special privileges. 
The reason was simple, When you outwork and outperform everyone, you earn the privileges.

Now, the point of this story:
Clients and bosses won’t stay loyal to you just because you’re polite or respectful. They’ll replace you if your results aren’t great....

And no matter how many issues you have if your results are exceptional, they can’t replace you....

Make your work and results so good that they think a hundred times before letting you go....

Here’s a real example. 

I’ve been working with a small business owner for over 2 years. He has a habit of exaggerating small issues. One day, I got fed up and told him to find someone else.

Exactly 25 days later, he came back after burning a lot of ad budget and hitting the lowest revenue of the year.... 

Now he is afraid to say anything bad even if its my mistake 😂 .

Lesson: Deliver ridiculously good work and then demand the value you deserve.

These days every restaurant is busy making memes, chasing trends, and trying to sound funny in the comments….

Everyone’s looking for reel makers like that’s the only way to win….

Content is important, sure. But if your product sucks, no meme can save you….

I saw this video of Jeela, aka Aeniyaan Muhabattan……

Two years ago people were traveling from Karachi to Lahore, waiting two or three hours in line just to try his food…..

He was pouring desi ghee like it was holy water but the food? 
Below average….

The hype brought people once. No one came back….

Now that same guy is on camera begging people to visit his restaurant….

And that’s the real lesson. You can’t build a business on hype. …

You can fool people once with marketing, but you can’t make them return if the product doesn’t deliver….

We’re seeing the same story with the Cookiyoon walay boys. 
All noise, weak product. They have to work on their product 😶‍🌫️

At the end of the day, good marketing gets you attention….

A good product earns you loyalty. And loyalty is what keeps the lights on when the buzz fades….
