No one wants to master the basics.

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room, or rather, the purple cow.

Everyone’s chasing the shiny, the unique, the “stand out at all costs” strategy.

But here’s the thing:

You can’t build a purple cow on a shaky foundation.
Yet, that’s exactly what so many people are trying to do.

They want to go viral.
They want to be the next big thing.
They want to skip the line and land at the finish.

The reality is far different :

If you can’t master the basics of content creation and monetization, you are just building a house of cards.

-People are spending hours brainstorming viral ideas but skipping the research on their audience.

-People are chasing trends but ignoring the fundamentals of storytelling.

and monetization?

They want the quick wins.

But they don’t want to put in the work to build trust, deliver value, or nurture a loyal audience.

The basics aren’t glamorous. 
They’re not flashy or exciting.

But they’re the foundation of everything.

Because here’s the secret:

The purple cow isn’t about being different for the sake of being different.

It’s about mastering the basics so well that your uniqueness naturally shines through.

Every time I create content, I channel 2023 me:

-Drowning in conflicting advice from growth gurus.
-Trying every "hack" and seeing no real results.
-Measuring success by likes instead of revenue.
-Building an audience that would never become clients.

That version of me needed someone to stop performing and start being real.

Someone to say: "Here's what actually works. Here's what's BS. “
So that's what I do now.

I don't:

<Format posts for maximum algorithmic appeal.
<Write hooks designed to go viral.
<Soften my message to avoid offending anyone.
<Create content for people who will never hire me.

I do:

-Speak directly to my ICP's real problems.
-Share what actually works in my experience.
-Call out tactics that waste time and money.
-Build trust with people who need exactly what I offer.

Does this mean it will take me ages to hit 100k followers? Probably

Does this mean my business is profitable and sustainable? Absolutely.

I will take real impact over fake reach any day.

The majority do not want to narrow their focus.

Let's talk about the positioning problem killing your business.

Everyone wants to be known for:

And 10 other things ( like that's gonna scale their businesss!)

But clearly, most individuals are missing this point :

You can't be an authority on everything.
Yet that's exactly what people try to do.

They want to appeal to everyone.
They want to keep their options open.

They want to avoid "limiting" themselves.

I cannot shout this out louder:

If you are not willing to own one specific problem, you will never be the obvious choice for any problem.

Here's what I see:

<People are posting about 7 different topics, hoping something sticks
<People helping "anyone who wants to grow" instead of a specific person
<People keep their message broad to "maximize opportunities."

And monetization?

They wonder why no one hires them when literally no one knows what they actually do.

Generalists don't get hired. Specialists do.

Because here's what actually works:

Pick one problem. Own it completely. 
Become THE person for that specific thing.

Then, once you're known for that, you can expand.

So here's my challenge:

Stop trying to be relevant to everyone.
Start being the obvious choice for someone.

The best teachers I had? 

They were all selling something.

And 90% of you are too scared to promote yourselves.
Let me explain.

I didn't learn how to build my business from creators teaching me comment strategies or post formatting.

I learned from the ones who weren't afraid to sell their services.

Here's what they actually taught me:
While they were promoting their offers, I was getting a masterclass in sales psychology.

I watched how they positioned their services.

I learned what made people actually want to buy.

I saw how they talked about their offers without being pushy.
They demonstrated the psychology behind why people buy.

They showed me how to dissect what works and what doesn't in positioning.

Every time they promoted themselves, they were teaching me how to do the same.

Meanwhile, 90% of creators are terrified to sell on LinkedIn.

Some guru convinced them that "being salesy" is bad, so they never promote anything.

Because watching someone sell effectively teaches you:

↳ How to position yourself as the obvious choice
↳ How to create desire for your solution
↳ How to price and package your offer
↳ How to make asking for the sale feel natural
↳ How to iterate based on what resonates

Content without promotion is just expensive free consulting.

You are helping everyone else while your bank account stays empty.

Stop being afraid to sell. 
Your audience needs to know how you can help them.

If you never promote your offer, don't be surprised when nobody buys it.

Spending 3 years in Sales has helped me 

earn my first $1000 in my entrepreneurial journey on LinkedIn.

For me, in my Corporate Journey, Sales was all about taking more shots

- Do X number of visits per week
- Doing X number of Calls per week
- Do X number of follow-ups per week

The higher the reps I could do, the better the chance to close more sales.

Similar to this I have stuck to a target in my Entreprenul journey.

- Do 10 outbound messages per day.
- Send 10-15 connection requests to ICP daily.
- Book 3-5 calls per week.
- Publish content 5-6 times a week.

It again mostly comes down to the reps I can consistently do.

The only difference between both journeys → I was largly accountable to my superior in corporate life.

And, In my Solporeneurship journey, I am accountable to myself mainly, hence the bigger challenge to keep up with it.

This is where we all tend to falter, but the top 0.1% find out ways to keep on being consistent with their efforts.

Although, I am not perfect but I do manage to stay consistent with my efforts 80 percent of the time and that is enough to make a huge difference.

850+ days I have been consistent on LinkedIn.

Here’s my no.1 most underrated tip to stay consistent on Linkedin. 
(Especially for thlse starting out.)

↳ LOWER THE BAR to learn and apply yourself one step at a time.

+Do not try to learn, copy or get inspired by the best, rather try to take inspiration from Individuals who are one or two steps ahead of you in their content creation journey.

Think about this:

If you are trying to hit the gym and stay consistent at it you don't take the most weights in your first attempt and try to emulate the pro athletes.

Rather, you take it slow with lower weights and increase gradually with time.

Similarly you don't need to post 5-7 times a week trying to copy the best creators hoping to achieve massive growth or go viral in the process.

This in turn leads to burnout and you focusing on the wrong metrics at the start of your journey.

Start by :

- Posting 2-3 weeks.
- Start conversations in Dms. ( gameee changer)
- Ask for feedback from your community.
- Showing up everyday to make meaningful engagements in your community.
- Experiment with different forms of content and analyze performance, them double down on that which works for you.

P.S. You will reach your goal in due time, don't force the outcome to arrive and embrace the journey.

Someone said: "Thank you for accepting my request. 

Most people with your following ignore newcomers."

And it made me think about the unspoken hierarchy on LinkedIn .

The "strategic networking" advice that basically says:

- Only connect with people who can help your business
- Ignore anyone who isn't your ICP
- Guard your network like it's a private club

I get the logic. I really do.

But I can't operate that way.

I accept about 70-80% of connection requests. 
The only ones I decline are obvious bots or spam accounts or the ones who never put out content.

Is it strategic? Probably not.
Is it optimized? Definitely not.

Does it "maximize ROI"? no.

But here's what it does do:

It makes LinkedIn feel less like a cold transaction platform and more like an actual community.

When I was at 200 followers, people accepting my requests mattered. 
It felt like validation that I belonged here.

Now at 22k, I'm not going to suddenly treat connection requests like they need to prove their worth first.

Someone wants to be part of my network? 
Cool. Welcome.

They might never engage with my content. 
They might never become a client. They might just be here to learn.

And that's completely fine.

Because I'm not here to gatekeep connections.

I am here to build.

Maybe I'm leaving growth on the table. Maybe I amm doing it "wrong."

But I would rather be human than optimized.

Real scarcity doesn't need caps lock and alarm emojis. 

Real scarcity is: "I only take 3 clients a month. Two spots are filled."

That's it. No drama. No theatrics.

If you have to yell about urgency, it probably isn't urgent.
