One stakeholder reached out to me on a problem he encountered. 

It seemed trivial but it was taking him a while to even figure out what's going on in his report. 

I went in, and after 15 min, all the issues were identified and solved. 

As a data hire, you bring a different perspective than others in the business. 

And this is just one of the many ways you can make an impact in your role.

You might think your decision was a waste of money and time.

For example, spending a lot of money to attend university.

Maybe 90 out of 100 classes you take aren't that useful.

But you might find 10 classes useful and be using what you learned to this day, with or without you knowing. 

And even if you think you paid just for those 10 classes, it might be worth it. 

This is just an example but I believe there are many more things like this in life. 

You might be benefiting from what you believed to be something completely useless and wasteful.

1. If your spouse asks you to do something, do it yesterday
2. You keep everything in the house clean so your spouse doesn't even think of a need for cleaning
3. Cook or order the food your spouse loves before she knows she wants it

Sometimes all you need is another set of eyes.

Your colleagues bring a different perspective you’d never think of.

They bring insights into your ideas because they come with different experiences than yours.

You might have an experience where you were struggling with a problem for hours and had someone take a look at it and they solved it in minutes.

That's the power of collaboration.

When you invite others into your thought process, you borrow their clarity.

You shorten your path to the solution and you learn faster!

My wife and I are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel of this parenting challenge. 

The key has been both getting some outside help and being more observant about the situation. 

You're always learning as parents...
