🚨URGENT REQUEST!🚨 For the sake of humanity's mental health, can someone please put a moratorium on the new releases of AI products??

Some people are trying to focus here.   

We are past the debate of if AI will disrupt the global labor market, now its purely a debate of when.

Putting the above aside, you spend days and weeks trying to master a specific aspect of AI and then BOOM, a new release makes all your leaning a total waste of time. 

Which is just a microcosm of what AI does and will do to people's livelihood

Wake me up when the AI rollercoaster is over

Over the past few months the people advising me on Perquity told me over and over again:

I must nail down clear criteria for who the ideal companies for the employer-provider childcare are

I originally had 2 technical criteria.

Recently I added another one which is totally non-technical, but equally crucial

1. A company with healthy taxable income. 
(This excludes companies running losses, OR companies using other methods to eliminate taxable income.)

2. A company with healthy cashflow.

3. A company led by people who CARE about the wellbeing of their employees. 
(Shockingly, this is not a given)   

I close my little monologue when meeting company leaders, as follows: 

🎊 Your bank account ends up the same whether you offer this benefit or not. So… you probably should offer it, right?

🎊 Instead of sending your money to the IRS, send it to childcare providers taking care of your employees’ children.

🎊 Its cost neutral to you and life changing to your employees 

Recently, I noticed a tiny minority of company leaders asking: 
"Why bother if we gain nothing?" 

Well obviously the simple answer is: A company will always gain if their employees are well taken care of

But I don't even bother answering, I just nod my head with fake agreement.  But it did make me realize I need to add a critical criteria to my list of criteria's:  "Caring employers"

But in no way does this take away my absolute inspiration and absolute motivation to push forward that i get from so many good willing company leaders doing what it takes to improve the lives of the people dependent on them.

This is just a little reminder to myself and all of us, that while people lacking compassion still exists, it is still a hard minority, and most people rage with compassion of how to improve the lives of another.

An important question some employers have asked me recently 

"The political environment is not very stable. Tax credits could disappear and then we are left holding the bag.

Lets say we implement a childcare benefit, employees rely on it, then the gov pulls the credit, and then we are left to decide whether to continue the benefit without funding or terminate the program and destabilize our employees' wellbeing."

Here is my answer to this question..

If a company is looking for a reason not to offer childcare benefits despite the generous tax credits currently in place there are plenty of legitime reasons.  Cash flow being the biggest one

However, there is no need to use the "stability of employees wellbeing" as an excuse not to improve employee wellbeing (AKA as gaslighting:)

But to answer the above questions: 

The chance for Congress or State legislators to cancel or somehow minimize this tax credit is not zero but not very much more than zero.

This is not some shiny object tax credit that comes and goes based on the mood of some politicians.

This is high priority for politicians on both sides to try to make a dent in the very real national crises of cost and availability of childcare. The current reality where employees pay half or more of their paycheck for childcare -- if they could find a slot -- is not sustainable. 

This is a 25-year-old tax credit that has been significantly enhanced with broad bi-partisan support under the OBBBA so that more families and more companies could actually benefit. 

NYS politicians are all pushing in the direction of universal childcare to various degrees with the employer provided childcare being one of the pillars. 

So could it be cancelled, yes, would it be cancelled, very very very unlikely. 

As a business decision maker you face questions like these all the time and perform a proper cost benefit analysis, so I urge every company owner skeptical about the permanency of this tax credit to do a proper cost benefit analysis and proceed accordingly.
