I almost didn’t post this… but here goes.

Yesterday was International Men’s Day.

A day that highlights issues a lot of men quietly deal with, and the pressure to just get on with it.

There are plenty of days we recognise throughout the year. All valid. All important to someone.

But this one hits home for me.

I’ve been the guy who suffered in silence.
The one whose mental health dipped lower than I’d ever admit at the time.
The one who lived in those dark worlds you don’t talk about.

And I’ve learned that talking helps.
That you don’t need to be the “big guy”.
And you definitely don’t need to “man up”.

This year’s theme is Celebrating Men and Boys - so I’m taking a moment to celebrate my son.

He won’t read this (8-year-olds aren’t asking for a LinkedIn login, despite what some people on here might say).

But he’s the reason behind a lot of what I do.

Absolutely smashing school - top marks, teachers rave about him.
A standout goalkeeper with two PoTM awards on the bounce (David Raya in the making, iykyk).
Curious, kind, funny, polite, and surrounded by a brilliant group of mates.

He just needs to work on making his bed 😉

The best part - he probably teaches me more than I teach him.

Couldn’t be prouder.

Otis, yesterday was for you, mate.
Keep being the amazing boy you are. I can’t wait to see who you grow into.
