In 2025, I started coding again. Now I ship every morning using AI tools, working alongside a non-technical cofounder, building Sucana from scratch.

I've spent 24 years in product development. I've built enterprise software used by 100,000+ employees and consumer apps used by 3M+ users. I know what it takes to build at scale, secure, maintainable, production-grade.

But I also know how to move fast. Ship lean. Validate early. Launch in days, not months.

Right now, I'm building in public. Documenting the journey. Sharing what it looks like to start again in your 50s with clarity, patience, and focus.

I work at 4 am 
Because during the day

My 9 to 5 job is fulfilling. 
I lead large initiatives & teams.

I indirectly contribute to patient care. 
It is meaningful work.

But I also have my own ideas. 
My own initiatives and projects. 
Things that have been sitting in the back of my mind for years.

Working at 4 am gives me that space.
It lets me explore what is possible. 
It lets me stay sharp technically.

4 am works for me. 
It might not work for you.

Building Sucana while working full-time using Claude Code. Back to coding in my 50s after 12 years in management. I enjoy vibe coding, tech trends and gardening.

Clawdbot became one of the hottest AI tools overnight.
Yesterday, it went through every founder's nightmare. 
All in 24 hours.

First, Anthropic sent a trademark claim. 
The name "Clawd" was too similar to "Claude."

They rebranded it to Molt.

But during the rename, the founder made a critical mistake.

Between releasing the old name and claiming the new one, 
Crypto scammers grabbed both the GitHub organization and the X handle.

10 seconds. That is all it took.

These scammers then used the hijacked accounts to 
start pumping fake $CLAWD tokens to tens of thousands of followers. 

The token hit $16 million market cap before people realized it was a scam.

Meanwhile, security researchers found vulnerabilities. 

API keys, bot tokens, OAuth secrets all accessible. 
Hundreds of publicly exposed instances. 
Full conversation histories visible. 
Prompt injection via email.

All of this in 24 hours.

One oversight.
One mistake. 
One gap. 

That is all it takes.

What’s your building routine?

For the last few weeks,
I’ve been in extreme focus mode.

I code.
I garden.
I eat and sleep.
Then repeat it daily.

All while leading two projects in my 9–5 job.

No X spaces.
No daily posts.
Not recording videos.

Just Claude Code coding.
Long brainstorming sessions.
Deep ideation and architecture work.

This momentum cycle has been extremely fulfilling.

It's 4 am.
I am in my 50s.
Coding in 3 windows.

That third one is wild.
I just send messages on WhatsApp. 
And Moltbot does the coding and deployments.

I did not code for 12 years.
Now I code every day with AI.

AI coding brought me back to building.
It can do the same for you.

After 12 years in management, I forgot what coding felt like.

And it's the most productive I've been in my entire life.

We are two cofounders in our 50s.

Different backgrounds.
Different strengths.

I’m deeply technical.
Code, architecture, implementation.

Virgil Brewster is non-technical.
But strong in UX, positioning, and marketing instincts.

That contrast has become our biggest advantage.
He pushes for simplicity, flow, and user experience.
I translate that into Sucana using Claude Code.

There's something about doing this in your 50s. 
You stop overcomplicating. 
You know what matters.
You show up and build.

What’s new for both of us is this phase.
Building something from scratch again.
A new product.
A new rhythm.
A new hope.

We show up every morning.
Decide.
Build it.
Repeat.

This feels different.
And in a good way.

If you’re building with a cofounder, I’m curious,
what skill combinations have worked best for you?

Planted new flower seeds and built new flower beds.

These will bloom a few months from now.

Gardening is one of the best ways to learn patience.

You put in the work for months without seeing results.

Then one day, things start to bloom.

I’ve learned this is just as true when building 

a career,
a side hustle,
or a micro SaaS startup.

Most of the work happens quietly, long before anything is visible.

If you stay consistent long enough, the results eventually show up.

Just migrated from

ClawdBot → OpenClaw.

Here's how (takes 15 minutes):

1. First, back up your data:
tar -czvf clawdbot-backup.tar.gz ~/.clawdbot ~/clawd

2. Stop the old daemon:
clawdbot daemon stop

3. Install OpenClaw:
sudo npm install -g openclaw@latest

4. Install the new gateway service:
openclaw gateway install openclaw daemon start

5. That's it. OpenClaw auto-migrates everything:

Config → ~/.openclaw/
WhatsApp session ✅
Memory files ✅
Sessions ✅

Old paths get symlinked so nothing breaks.

openclaw status

Then message yourself on WhatsApp.
Your bot is now running OpenClaw 🦞
