I enjoy connecting with people on a personal level. I understand emotions run high when people start talking about their finances, especially their student loan debt. This is why I make it a point to always create a calming atmosphere where my clients feel at ease discussing their financial circumstances, whatever they may be. Together, my clients and I collaborate on putting together a well-thought-out financial plan to make sure we address those big financial milestones in life, all while taking care of the student debt situation.

"The average age of a Financial Advisor is between 51-55 years old, with a significant 38% of them planning to retire within the next 10 years"^1. This means many advisors will retire before their own clients retire or reach their financial milestones.  This forces these clients to have to find a new advisor or be transferred to an advisor they have no personal connection with.

With many of my clients being older than I am, I see this as an advantage to my clients. I have many years left of doing what I love to do. I’ve observed advisors later in their careers start to dial back into their own retirement, making their clients feel forgotten about or less important than they once felt. I know my clients are the most important piece of my business, and I consider it a privilege to help my clients and reassure them that I am here for the long haul.

“You Just Had Your First Child… Now What?”


Having a baby is life-changing. Emotionally, physically, and financially. 

Here are 5 money moves every new parent should consider:

1️⃣ Update your budget. Diapers, formula, childcare, health costs, etc. small changes add up fast. Build a new baseline. Things will be different now

2️⃣ Start (or boost) your emergency fund. A 3–6 month cushion becomes even more important with a child in the picture.

3️⃣ Review your insurance.
• Add your baby to your health plan
• Review life insurance for both parents
• Check disability coverage. Do you still have enough coverage?

4️⃣ Create or update your will. Choose guardianship and make sure your wishes are documented. It's probably time to sit down with an Estate Planning Attorney.

5️⃣ Open savings for your child. Whether it’s a 529 plan, high-yield savings, or a custodial account. Starting early can help immensely thanks to compounding interest.

Welcoming a child is one of life’s biggest milestones. With a few intentional steps, you can build a strong financial foundation for your growing family.

Can I contribute to my 401k and my Roth IRA in the same year???



The answer is yes!

Just be aware there are income limits when it comes to contributing to a Roth IRA

for 2025 
less than $150,000 MAGI for single filers. Phase outs up until $165,000 MAGI
and less than $236,000 MAGI for those filing jointly. Phase outs up until $246,000 MAGI

Talk to your tax professionals regarding your income, but for most that fall below the income, you are able to contribute to both.

That's all I have today. The question has been coming up a lot lately as we approach the end of the year.

Do you have an old 401(k) or 403(b) from a prior job lying around?

Here are 4 options of what you can do with it:



1. Take a withdrawal- This would be a taxable event/possibly penalties

2. Keep it where it's at

3. Roll it into your new employer's 401(k) or 403(b) plan

4. Roll it into a Traditional IRA

That's it, those are your 4 options of what to do. 

Before making a decision on what option is best for you, I recommend asking yourself the following questions:

- How will my fees change if I move it?

- How will my service change?

- How do my investment options compare?

- Do I plan on doing Backdoor Roth Conversions in the future?

- What about the rule of 55? Is it applicable to my situation?

- Will consolidating my accounts help me better understand where I am financially?

Finding an old account can be rewarding. It's deciding what to do next with it that which can be tough. Know your options as well as the benefits and consequences of each.

Happy December Everyone! 

As we enter the last month of the year, here are 4 things you should do with your 401k and other investment accounts:

1. Update Your Beneficiaries: 

When was the last time you made sure your beneficiaries were up to date

2. Make sure your investments are aligned with your risk tolerance:

There is a chance your investments may have either become too aggressive or too conservative. You may have to rebalance your account if it isn’t already set to "auto rebalance"

3. Increase your contributions:

As we enter the new year, you may have received a raise (or plan on one). This is the perfect opportunity to start putting more away towards the future.

4. Figure out your pre-tax vs Roth contributions:

Decide if your Pre-tax vs Roth contribution mix is still right for you. If your income has changed dramatically, it may be time to make a change to your mix.

5. Take a look at your financial goals

Are you on track, or did you fall behind. Make adjustments to make sure your money is working the way you want it to.

When should I start drawing Social Security? 

It’s one of the biggest retirement decisions and like many things in life, there is no one-size-fits-all answer.

Here’s what you should consider before you claim:

💪Age matters – Taking benefits at 62 means smaller monthly checks for life. Waiting until 70 maximizes your monthly benefit. 

💡 Your Health & longevity – If you expect a longer retirement, delaying could allow you to have a larger check into your later retirement years. 

💸 Do you have other income sources? – Do you need the income now, or can you afford to wait?

👫 Spousal benefits – Your choice can affect your spouse’s benefit too, especially in survivor situations. If your spouse were to pass you as the surviving spouse can only take the highest of the two Social Securities. Not both. (This is a big one)

🔍 Tax implications – Social Security can be taxable depending on your other income. Also, do you have a tax strategy in place which makes sense to delay Social Security i.e. Roth Conversions

The “right time” depends on your life, health, and finances. 

Don’t guess, or worse ask your relatives what they did. Everyone's Social Security situation is different

Is your advisor harvesting gains and losses in your brokerage account every year? 🤔

Tis the season before the end of the year.

Tax loss harvesting can be a powerful strategy that can significantly impact your tax bill—both now and in the future.

If you’re working with an advisor, you should ask:

👉Are they actively monitoring your portfolio? 

Not just looking at your investment returns, but tax managing the account as well.

👉Do they understand the wash sale rule? 

By selling investments at a loss and rebuying the same investment within 30 days will create a wash sale. This will not benefit you at all.

👉How often do they review your personal tax situation? 

Your tax situation and your investments go hand and hand with each other. Be sure they are being reviewed together.

It also doesn't hurt to talk to your CPA as well to see where there could be other tax opportunities for you. 

So I ask, have you discussed tax loss harvesting with your advisor?

P.S. This is also a common missed strategy for DIY investors as well.
