𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚:

Instead of saying “this car is for families,” Jeep joked “it’s for making families.”
It lands as bold, funny, and easy to share.

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲:

• They took a joke from a car website and turned it into their whole ad instead of pretending it didn’t exist.

• The ad laughs at how serious car commercials usually are. It’s fun and doesn’t take itself too seriously.

• They show off car features like fancy seats and extra space in a funny, easy-to-remember way.

• Jeep used to sound super tough. Now they sound smart and playful, and people like that.

• It mixes comedy and cool luxury in a way that feels fresh and real.

𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬:

Most brands stay far away from topics that might seem inappropriate or awkward, like sex. Jeep leaned into it but kept it clever and funny, not uncomfortable. 

That makes people stop scrolling and actually watch.

This is outside of my usual content, but this is an issue I feel is important to shed light on.

I lived there for under 2 years with Mohammad Filfil.

We paid almost 100.000 DKK just to move in, knowing there's a high likelyhood we would have to fight to get anything back.

While moving out, we asked about the process, what should be covered and how we'd fairly price fixes.

I was shrugged off and just told to wait until I got a mail.

Now, almost 3 months later, while new tenants have been living there for over a month, we get the rounded up total and a bill for an additional 16.000 DKK for “repairs” that I am not allowed to discuss, question, or see in advance.

We were kept in the dark the whole way.

No walkthrough of costs.

No conversation about options.

Now just a final invoice and a short deadline.

Renters are effectively paying to fix problems that never should have passed inspection in the first place.

And this is quite comical.

Their official painter approached us casually suggests paying him 25.000DKK cash “because it’ll be cheaper,” then puts the same price on the official invoice - and he couldnt guarantee that we wouldn't be charged for an official paint job even if he had done it. 🤣 

(He might have been looking to double dip, but don't worry, we didnt pay him)

He did mentioned that he's the official painter for ALL their properties. 🤔 

Is that “normal practice.”?

I think thats an open scam wrapped in paperwork.

The most painful part isn’t just the money.

It’s the realization that this is systematic:

Locals, foreigners, students, families – everyone gets the same treatment.
Huge deposits, vague processes, sign on an ipad, corporate landlords with all the leverage, and tenants kept in the dark treated like a line item to be maximized.

Meanwhile, people are losing jobs by the thousands. 

Savings are shrinking under basic living costs. 

This isn’t “just business.”

It's extortion, and It’s a quiet transfer of risk and cost onto the people who can least afford it.

The icing on the cake? 

The previous tenant that lived in our apartment just won a case against them for exactly this, and they were obligated to inform us of all the details. 🤣

𝐅𝐢𝐱:Treat them as cultures. Map subcultures, rituals, and in-jokes before you create.

𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞: Polish over pattern. 
𝐅𝐢𝐱: Go native. Vertical, how are other creators telling stories?

𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞: Blindly chase trends.

Liquid Death's “Size matters. Bigger is not always better for everyone” ad takes a simple update:

𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘴𝘪𝘻𝘦𝘴.

and turns it into a (sex) joke.

𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚: 

Instead of saying “we launched 12oz and 19.2oz cans,” (boring) they have people confess whether they like big ones or small ones, and only at the end reveal it’s about cans.

So a boring packaging update suddenly feels like a cheeky, shareable story about personal “preferences.”

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬:

• Every line about “small ones” and “big ones” is really explaining when you’d want each can size, without sounding like a dry product ad.

• You don’t remember 12oz vs 19.2oz, you remember the lines you can quote to friends, which keeps the brand and the sizes in your head.

• The twist at the end re-frames the whole thing, so you immediately want to replay or share it to see people’s reactions.

• And it perfectly matches Liquid Death’s long-running, entertainment-first brand world.

𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬:

Most water brands talk about purity and wellness; Liquid Death has leaned into their category disruption using edgy innuendo to sell can sizes and still lands a super clear message: 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤.

That mix of a slightly taboo joke + simple product is what makes it 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥‑𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞.

I can confidently say that the root of most (if not all) of my successes in my entrepreneurial journey started with good advice. Over time, I got better at actually taking that advice and realised how much of success comes down to perspective, not just effort.

It's a humbling thing to ask for help, but every time I have, it has fast-tracked my learning far more than trying to figure it all out alone. I don’t believe you’re ever too young, too old, or too experienced to have a mentor; what matters is your willingness to be challenged and to see things differently.

This is my first real step into personal mentorship, and I’m genuinely excited. Grateful to be learning from Christie H. Kristensen who has already walked the path and is generous enough to share their perspective.

My friendly note to DSB: right now the feed leans more towards brainrot than story.

I’d love to see more human moments, stuff you watch because it means something...something that brings your brand closer to the people, and gives the people a reason to be closer to your brand. 🫶
