I didn’t always know I’d end up in sales. Growing up, I wanted to be a lawyer. I studied International Relations in university and eventually found myself in the world of banking. 

It was stable, structured, and... not quite for me. I wanted something more dynamic, something that allowed me to connect with people in a real way. That’s when I discovered tech sales.

Now, was the journey smooth? Not exactly......

Transitioning from banking to sales meant stepping into a whole new world. I had to unlearn what I thought I knew and build new skills from scratch. But through determination (and a lot of trial and error), I figured it out.

Fast forward to now, and I’ve not only hit quota but consistently exceeded it, thanks to a sales approach rooted in strategy, creativity, and genuine connection.

When I’m not dialing or sending cold emails, I’m crafting content that tells a story. I write strategic, engaging, and inspiring content that doesn’t just drive clicks, it drives action.

To think that some days I don’t feel like showing up here, but I still do.

Today is officially my last day in sales.

But here’s the one thing I’d say before I go.

Sales will humble you in ways no motivational quote ever could.

One minute you’re confident.
Next minute, you’re on your 7th call saying:
“Hi… is this…oh. Sorry, wrong number.”

You write the perfect email…
Gmail replies: Delivery failed.

Sales makes you feel like a genius at 10:04am and unemployed at 10:06am.

And most times, it’s not because you’re bad at sales.

It’s because you’re selling to people who don’t exist anymore.

Wrong titles.
Old companies.
Numbers that now belong to someone’s cousin.

Yet we blame our confidence.
Or our scripts.

But I realized one thing:

You can’t outwork bad inputs.

That’s when I tightened who I was reaching using FullEnrich  to make sure the people on my list were real, reachable, and relevant.

Suddenly:

• Emails got replies
• Silence stopped feeling personal

Sales was still hard I won't lie.

I’ve spent weeks buried in bounced emails.
I’ve wasted hours dialing dead numbers.
I’ve watched great opportunities slip away 

Not because I wasn’t trying,

Towards the end of last year, I got a Slack message that instantly ruined my mood.

“Hey, your reply rates are dropping. Any idea why?”

I just stared at my screen.

Because I was doing everything right.

• Sending emails.
• Making calls.
• Following the playbook.

So I did what everyone does first

• Changed subject lines.
• Tweaked CTAs.
• Added more personalization.

Nothing still changed. 

At that point, I knew I was going home 😔

But it pushed me to check the part nobody likes to look at.

And then I realized:

• Emails quietly bouncing.
• Numbers going nowhere.
• Decision-makers weren’t decision-makers at all.

It suddenly it made sense to me.

The problem wasn’t effort.
It wasn’t skill.

It was broken inputs.

I made one passport each for me and my wife with the help of Ai.

There was an urgent need for me to get our passport photographs to someone for an official purpose.

I couldn't help but park by the road and searched everywhere for a copy of our passports at least.

Uploaded a normal photo.

• Tweaked it.
• Adjusted the background.
• Aligned the size.

And boom!

I got clean, clear and accurate images

Honestly… they look exactly like us 😂

Except for the fact that we don't own those shirts in real life 😂😂

Guys, AI isn’t replacing humans.

It’s just quietly upgrading the ones who know how to use it.

10 phrases prospects can’t live without

Spend enough time in outbound and you’ll start to hear the same soundtrack on repeat.

Here are the greatest hits from prospects (and how I think about them):

1. Now’s not a good time.
(Translation: I’ll never have a “good” time unless you create one.)

2.  Can you send me an email?
(95% of the time = brush off. 5% = real interest. Your job is knowing which.)

3.  We already have a solution in place.
(Every competitor says this until you uncover what’s broken.)

4.  How did you get my number?
(Classic. Smile. Then pivot back to value.)

5.  Just shoot me some info.
(The graveyard of pipeline. Don’t settle for it.)

6.  Can you circle back in 6 months?
(A polite ‘no’ unless you earn a reason to follow up sooner.)

7.  We don’t have budget right now.
(Budget is never the problem. Priority is.)

8.  We’re all set.
(Translation: I don’t see a reason to listen yet.)

9.  Who else are you working with?
(This is curiosity. Credibility moment, don’t waste it.)

10. I’m not the right person.
(Perfect, now point me to who is.)

The truth: these phrases aren’t rejections.
They’re signals. And if you’re sharp, they’ll guide your next move.

I read the most terrifying message from a friend yesterday.

Manager: Unfortunately, we may have to let you go.

Me: I’m sorry… what did I do wrong?

Manager: Your outreach numbers are low. Few replies. Barely any meetings.

Me: But I sent the emails every day. On time, and followed the exact playbook you gave me.

Manager: Yes I know but we’re not getting the results, no meeting is being booked.

Me: I think we should take a look at the copy and personalize more. Open rate should increase and then conversion.

Manager: Unfortunately, we may have to try something else for now, you’re fired.


John: 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Now, this may actually sound like a cooked story but it happened to a friend of mine in December.

The problem was never his email copies neither was it his personalization or follow ups

Those champions league worth of emails weren’t just landing.

Now the good news is: he got another role in January 🎉🎉🎉

As soon as he did, the first thing I told him to do was to….

fix the foundation before touching the fancy stuff

Finally, ending the year with 124 meetings booked in 2025…

Honestly, I used to think pipeline leaks were exaggerated LinkedIn horror stories.


Until the month I manually tracked intent, built lists by hand, and responded whenever I could, not whenever the lead actually moved.

I lost 3 deals that month.
Not because the leads were bad.

But because my process was slower than their attention span.

That’s when I tried something new.

I asked Apollo a simple question:

“Who from my target accounts has visited our website in the last 48 hours, and which ones look most likely to talk to sales if I reach out now?”
