My biggest design challenge this year.
Designing for a Series B startup.

(and realizing it’s not just about making things look good)

It’s about precision. Pressure. Purpose.

At Savvy, we closed our Series B a few months ago.

And my mission was pretty straightforward:

Design a landing page that captured
→ Who we are
→ What we’ve built
→ Where we’re headed

The brief sounded simple:
“Be creative. Have fun. Just don’t break the brand.”

Easy, right?

(Spoiler: not so much.)

I had a flood of ideas.

A few drafts in, I remembered something important:
Creativity means nothing if it kills clarity.

Design isn’t just what looks good.
It’s what feels right, converts, and communicates.

Proud of how it turned out.
Even prouder of what I learned along the way.

This project reminded me exactly why I love what I do.

This tool will 10x my value as a designer.
It’s called Spline.

Every few years, a tool changes how we think.

Figma did it for interfaces.
Now Spline is doing it for 3D.

I’ve been playing around with it lately.
And honestly, it’s kind of blowing my mind.

Not just for visuals.
But for thinking in 3D.

A few things I’m realizing along the way:

1. The more problems you can solve, the more valuable you become.
(Tools are just how you get there)

2. 3D design isn’t “the future”. It’s already here.

3. Curiosity compounds faster than any skill.

I’m not learning Spline just to chase trends.
I’m doing it to keep raising the ceiling on what I can create.

The best designers never “arrive.”
They just keep evolving.

I love showing how things are made.
Here’s how I built this 3D effect 👇

1. Weavy for image generation.
2. Photoshop to mock up the interaction.
3. Figma for the landing page layout.
4. Weavy (again) to turn it 3D.
5. Spline for the hover animation.

No templates.
Just curiosity, patience.
(and a lot of tweaking)

The fun part?
Watching pixels turn into something alive.

What do you think of this process?

Founders often waste $10k on design.
Because they skip one simple step.

Let’s be real.

Most startups want to look great fast.
New logo. Cool site. Slick deck.

But they miss the key step:
Clarity.

Clarity on:

→ The story your brand is telling
→ The action you want people to take
→ What feeling your brand should create

Design isn’t about how it looks.
It’s about how it works.

That’s what most founders miss.

Sometimes, ideas just pop into my head.
In an unexpected way.

And even if there is:

→ No client
→ No brief
→ No project on the table

I like to bring them to life anyway.

This time it turned into:
A logo and hero section for a mindset program.

No rules. Just letting creativity lead.

Staying sharp means creating.
Even when no one’s asking.

My dog sees what I don’t.
Because she’s not scared to break rules.

I told her not to climb on the table.
She did it anyway.

And from there, she saw the whole city.

She didn’t do it just to be disobey.
She did it to see something new.

As designers, founders, creators
we often follow “rules” we never questioned:

→ “You need experience before starting”
→ “You should stick to one niche”
→ “That’s not how it’s done”

But sometimes, the view only changes
when you climb where you’re “not supposed to”

The trick is knowing which rules limit you.
And which ones guide you.

Break the right ones.
And your whole perspective can shift.

PS: She actually climbed up to steal my socks, but you get the point 😅

Most clients don’t see your mistakes.
But you should fix them anyway.

Your work needs to match your price.
That means doing it right.
Every single time.

Even when no one notices.

Sometimes I catch little things:

→ A button too close
→ Bad spacing
→ A weird line break
→ A wrong font

The client won’t say anything.
But I notice.

And that’s enough.

If I see it, I fix it.
Simple as that.

That’s how you build pride.
That’s how you earn trust.

Now imagine you spot an error…
and leave it there.

Because “the client won’t care.”

That says a lot.
And not in a good way.

You lose respect.
For yourself and for them.

Clients might not see the difference.
But they always feel it.

I’ll probably lose followers for this post.
And honestly, I don’t care.

Lately, I’ve seen so many posts like:

“Check out our story”
“Look at our new service”
“See our latest feature”

Let’s be real…

No one cares about your story.
(at least not if it’s their first time seeing you)

People care about themselves.

How you can help them.
How your product/service makes their life easier.

So try this instead:

→ Show how you helped a real client.
→ Tell how your feature solved a problem.
→ Show results, not features.

Attention comes from value, not ego.
