I'm Tom - a proactive and enthusiastic marketing professional passionate about growing businesses, meeting people and telling their stories. 📝 Growing up I was never sure what path I would take, but after helping the British Hen Welfare Trust achieve 2018 JustGiving Charity of the Year and placing Petroc in the top 1% of colleges on social media, I realised I’d found my calling. 💡 From chickens to parliamentary rallies, it wasn’t just the successes that drove me but the day to day inspirational experiences with the incredible people I met along the way. Giving them a platform to be recognised and celebrated became my job satisfaction - a motivation that I’m sure will never grow old. 👨‍💻 I've since held key positions with the Association of Colleges, Operose Health and RSA. I've also supported businesses in freelance roles and worked part time with high profile musicians in marketing and lighting capacities. 💿 In 2019 I embarked on a solo inter-railing trip across Europe which not only helped me develop into the person I am today, but also made my transition from the rural Devonshire countryside to London that much easier. 🌍 My marketing journey has been a roller-coaster so far, and an exciting one at that. 🎢 Recent credentials include: ⭐ achieving over 40m Twitter impressions during AoC’s Colleges Week 2021, ⭐ ‘Association Campaign of the Year 2020’ nomination, ⭐ gaining billions in funding for FE through successful Parliamentary lobbying campaigns, ⭐ placing Petroc College in the top 1% in the Edurank social media statistics table, ⭐ helping The British Hen Welfare Trust achieve 2018 JustGiving Charity of the Year, ⭐ leading on comms for NHS Primary Care Centre mergers, openings and closures, ⭐ managing Lighting, Marketing and Photography for high profile musicians, ⭐ launching the Video Game Group Instagram channel, ⭐ supporting international businesses as a Freelancer. I’m skilled in Creative Writing, Digital Marketing, Social Media, PPC, Website Management, SEO, Photography and Events. I achieved a 2.1 Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English Language and Literature at the University of the West of England and in my spare time I enjoy sports, sightseeing, music (playing piano / guitar) and watching films. I earned a V50 certificate for voluntary performances whilst in various bands (including working with Olympic Diver Tom Daley at the Torquay Youth Awards) and supported the launch of the first ever college Esports competitions in partnership with British Esports Association. 🎮 I've also worked closely with the NHS and a number of MPs.
