Family is the quiet foundation behind every “individual” achievement.

When I finished the acknowledgement section of my book...one thing was clear:
This wasn’t 𝘮𝘺 achievement. It was 𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴.

When I decided to write the book, nothing about life got easier. 
Full-time work, travel, speaking, learning, building a new career after corporate...all of that stayed. 

The only way the book became real was because my family quietly made space for it.

In corporate life, we’re trained to thank managers, sponsors, and mentors publicly.
That’s very important. But it’s easy to forget the people who:

→ Hold things together at home while we “chase our dreams.”
→ Accept the version of us that’s stressed, tired, and distracted
→ Believe in us long before any publisher, platform, or employer does

As I prepare to sign off on an eventful 2025, this post is a small public “thank you” to my family from the acknowledgment section of 𝘙𝘦𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦.

For lighting the way, even when the path made no sense!

I always thought I was not "speaker material."

Not polished enough. 
Not charismatic enough. 
Not extraordinary enough.

So I didn't speak. I watched others own the stage while I sidelined myself.
Then one day, I just...did it anyway.

And here's what I discovered: 

Nobody cared about the extraordinary. 
They cared about what they wanted to learn.
They cared about how prepared I was to do so.

So I prepared, prepared, and then prepared again.
Until I knew my material cold. 

I practiced until the nervousness became confidence. 
I showed up messy, imperfect, real...and people connected with that.

That's when I realized it was all the Curse of Knowledge!
What I thought wasn't good enough was exactly what people needed to hear.

The insights I've learned. The mistakes I'd made. The things I'd learned the hard way. 

I thought they were too ordinary to share.
They weren't. 
They were gold for someone!

Now I Speak. Write. Teach. 
Not because I'm extraordinary. Because I am prepared.

Do you have expertise you're hiding because it doesn't feel special enough?

Your experience. Your knowledge. Your hard-won lessons. They're not obvious to everyone else.

Here is a simple formula:
→ Prepare → Show up → Share. 

Because someone desperately needs to hear what you know!

We all search for approvals, competition, and someone to measure up against.

However, the real coach, comparison, and competition are hiding in plain sight!

But it is difficult to show up for ourselves when no one is around us to applaud.

I have been doing that myself as well.
Constant comparisons, competition, and looking for approvals outside-in.

It was when I started writing my first book, I realized that I needed to flip the script.
 
Most days, there was no audience.
No applause.
Just me, the words, and the discipline to keep going even when I didn’t feel like it.

Some mornings, it felt impossible to put pen to paper.
But the progress only came from the quiet, unseen effort.

It was a battle of self-leadership: to keep moving when the finish line seemed distant and the motivation ran dry.

What did I learn?
The only coach, competition & comparison I needed was…ME.

Let’s remember: growth happens most in the silent moments, when only we can see the effort.

What’s a personal feat you’ve achieved quietly, without fanfare?

For me, Poetry is the code to understanding the sublimities of systems and nature.

It is how I sometimes delineate the interplay between technology, humans, and the psychological overlaps.

Chapter 6 of Reimagine Finance starts with this piece from William Blake:

‘𝘛𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘢 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘞𝘪𝘭𝘥 𝘍𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳.’

It tells us to move from popular romanticism (what William Blake was generally known for - rightly or wrongly), to recognizing that:

The smallest things contain entire universes of meaning..
IF we learn how to SEE them!

That’s exactly what the Internet of Things does to our daily lives.

→ watch isn’t just a watch anymore.
→ A doorbell isn’t just a doorbell.
→ A sensor on a truck isn’t just a sensor.

Each “grain” of data coming from these devices is a tiny window into behaviour, risk, opportunity, and value

Patterns we simply couldn’t see at the human scale before.

Blake’s challenge is both spiritual and perceptual: train your eyes to see the infinite inside the ordinary.

What is your favourite piece of poetry that opens your eyes to the infinite?

The difference between “finished” and “still becoming” is one small word.
Purpose-driven work rarely arrives with instant evidence.

That’s where the three-letter word matters most - YET!

Look how it reframes everything!

I cannot see it — YET
I haven’t got results — YET
I am not good at it — YET
I have not succeeded — YET

“Yet” keeps the door open.
It tells our brain...this is a skill, not an identity. 

A Phase, not a Fate

So before we walk away from the thing that still quietly matters to us, let's try one small edit:

Don’t say “I can’t.”
Say “I can’t… yet.”
