Saudi Arabia’s The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) has announced SAR 41 billion ($11 billion) worth of private investment opportunities as the heritage destination moves into its next phase of growth.

The plan marks a shift toward shared ownership with the private sector, targeting a 50/50 balance between public and private funding by 2030.

AlUla’s new wave of projects includes luxury hospitality, wellness tourism, and a SAR 1.2 billion film studio managed by Manhattan Beach Studios, all part of its broader goal to attract 1 million annual visitors within the decade.

Since its launch, AlUla has created 6,000 jobs and 5,000 new businesses, nearly half of which are women-led, positioning it as a model for inclusive and sustainable growth in Saudi Arabia’s tourism economy.

As it diversifies beyond heritage tourism into wellness, film, and creative industries, AlUla is quietly becoming one of the region’s most compelling investment stories.

Saudi Arabia’s business events sector is entering a major expansion phase with a 32% increase in event infrastructure and over 900 accredited venues now active across the Kingdom. With global events such as Expo 2030 Riyadh and the Saudi Arabia FIFA World Cup 2034™️ on the horizon, the growth of this ecosystem is becoming a significant driver of new investment opportunities across hospitality, events, development and supporting services.
