🧑‍💻 Are You Using AI, or is the 🤖 “Programming” You?

Most of the conversation around AI focuses on productivity. But after diving into Prof. Jiang Xueqin’s philosophy on becoming "Unprogrammable," I’ve realized the real challenge isn’t about output ≫ it’s about "cognitive sovereignty".

In his framework, the ultimate goal of any power system (whether it’s a government, a religion, or an algorithm) is predictability. AI is the most efficient "predictability engine" ever created. If we aren't careful, we are moving toward an era where our critical thinking isn't just being aided ⤳ it's being outsourced.

The 3 Key Shifts to Stay "Unprogrammable" in the AI Era:

1. Structure Over Belief AI tools often feed us "answers" based on moral binaries and popular narratives. To think like the top 1%, we must stop asking "Who is right?" and start asking "How does this system function?" When you stop looking for villains and start looking at incentives, you see the machinery underneath.

2. Identity is a Trap 🪤 Prof. Jiang warns that when our beliefs become our identity, we become easy to manipulate. Algorithms thrive on our "moral outrage." If a post or a tool triggers an instant emotional reaction, your prefrontal cortex has effectively shut down. True critical thinking happens in the pause between the stimulus and your response.

3. From Bounded Cognition to Model Thinking We all live in "boxes"—psychological infrastructures built by education and media. AI can either tighten the walls of your box (by showing you more of what you already believe) or help you dismantle it. Use AI to stress-test your logic, not to validate your biases. 🙏 

The "Unprogrammable" Challenge:

For the next 30 days, try this: Whenever you feel a strong emotional urge to agree or disagree with a digital narrative, pause. ⏸️ 
 
🫸 Don't signal. 🛑 Don't post. 
Just analyze the structure of the message.

🚀 The future doesn't belong to the most "productive" person; 
it belongs to the person who cannot be predicted. 🔮

The ConFather's Cold Deal

🌐 WEF Davos is no longer just a forum for traditional geopolitics. 

Today, technology and politics are so deeply intertwined that the future of global stability is inseparable from the trajectory of AI.

I recently watched the debate between Google’s Demis Hassabis and Anthropic’s Dario Amodei on "The World After AGI," and the implications for our immediate future are staggering.

Here are my 5 key takeaways from their conversation:

🚀 The AGI Timeline is Accelerating Dario Amodei stands by a 2026–2027 window for models that can match Nobel laureate-level performance across many fields.. but doesn't dismiss Demis's timeline either.

Demis Hassabis is slightly more cautious, sticking to a 50% chance by the end of the decade, noting that "scientific creativity" and "physical AI" (robotics) remain the hardest hurdles to clear.

🔄 "Closing the Loop" is the Turning Point. 
The real game-changer is AI building AI. 

Dario noted that Anthropic engineers are already shifting from writing code to editing AI-generated code. The moment AI can autonomously speed up its own research and development is the point of no return for exponential growth.

💼 A Massive Labor Market Shift is Imminent: Dario warned that half of entry-level white-collar jobs could be disrupted within 1 to 5 years. 

While Demis is more optimistic about new, more meaningful roles being created, he acknowledged that we are entering "uncharted territory" where traditional economic models of labor may no longer apply.

🌍 Geopolitics vs. Safety A major point of tension is the "race." 
Dario expressed concern that geopolitical competition (specifically with China) makes it difficult to slow down for safety. He argued for stricter controls on chip exports to "buy humanity time" to navigate our "technological adolescence" without self-destructing.

🧬 The Science Upside Despite the risks, the potential for good is unparalleled. From AlphaFold’s success in biology to solving cancer and finding new energy sources, both leaders agree that AI is the "ultimate tool" for understanding the universe.

The Big Question❔  

As AI begins to "close the loop" and build itself, are our political and social institutions ready to manage the productivity—and the displacement—that follows?

🌐 WEF Davos: Yuval Harari Warns AI Will Take Over

Are Humans Selling their Souls to AI (Big Tech)?

This was the haunting question that lingered after listening to Yuval Noah Harari's recent talk at WEF Davos. Especially, the end segment struck a chord that we cannot afford to ignore.

🗣️ Harari warns of a rapid "deskilling" of human critical faculties. 
As we abdicate our decision-making—from financial investments to personal choices—to AI agents, we risk becoming "the horses" (traded of a shinny coin) in a system we no longer understand. For centuries, our competitive advantage was thought and language.. 

Today, that edge is evaporating. 🍃 

However, while AI is mastering the world of words and logic, it still has zero capacity for sentience, spirituality, or consciousness. 🤔 

As humans, we are looking at the wrong side of the equation. 
We are obsessed with "Technical Alignment"—trying to fix the code—while completely neglecting "Human Alignment."

Mankind needs to go to "rehab" and re-evaluate its priorities. 🧘  
We aren't just biological processors; we are sentient beings. 🧠 

Food for 💭 If we don't prioritize our own evolution of consciousness, we are simply handing the keys of our civilization to an agent that can "think" but cannot feel.  

As Harari concluded with a chilling reminder for all parents and educators:

🇧🇪 Ironie belge, épisode de plus.

L’État met en place les flexi-jobs pour “favoriser l’emploi”.
Puis découvre que… cela décourage le temps plein.
Et maintenant, il s’attaque aux flexi-jobs.

Mais toujours au même endroit : du côté des travailleurs.

Dès le départ, le problème était connu. 💩 🔨 
Les flexi-jobs ne créent pas d’emploi stable, ils fragmentent le travail.
Ils transforment des postes potentiels en une mosaïque de petits boulots, fiscalement avantageux pour les employeurs, faiblement taxés pour les flexi-jobeurs, mais socialement coûteux pour le système.

🎯 Résultat :
> des heures de travail occupées sans créer de vrais postes,
> des chercheurs d’emploi exclus de facto,
> et une instabilité devenue structurelle, rebaptisée “flexibilité”.

Aujourd’hui, au lieu de corriger l’erreur de conception initiale — salaires nets trop faibles, fiscalité du travail dissuasive, inadéquation compétences-emplois — on resserre la vis sur ceux qui se sont adaptés au système tel qu’il existait.

C’est là toute l’ironie :
> on crée une mauvaise solution,
> on observe ses effets pervers,
> et on pénalise ensuite les travailleurs pour avoir joué selon les règles.

Les flexi-jobs ne sont pas une solution à l’emploi.

Ils sont le symptôme d’un système fracturé qui refuse encore de s’attaquer aux vraies barrières de l’emploi stable.

Prochain épisode : la réforme “Arizona” 🌵 🤠 
Présentée comme une réponse structurelle,
mais qui semble déjà vaciller avant même son atterrissage. 🩴 

🤡 Ironie supplémentaire :
> au nom d’une Europe plus unie et plus forte,
> on continue à empiler des réformes qui fragmentent encore davantage le marché du travail… et, au passage, la Belgique elle-même.

À force de bricoler des solutions mal conçues, on ne réforme plus : 
hunn Bart De Wever .. on gère les conséquences de ses propres erreurs.
