𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗔𝗘 𝗥𝗲𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸

The 𝗨𝗔𝗘 Ministry Of Foreign Trade just made a really innovative move. By partnering with Presight (𝗮 G42 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆), they are becoming the first ministry in the world to embed AI across its core functions.

This is exactly what I mean when I talk about 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗜, finding a massive pool of manual data and building a "Digital Brain" to run it.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:
- 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: We are moving past "monthly reports." This platform analyzes millions of data points from ports, shipping routes, and customs records in real time. It both tracks trade and 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 before they happen.
- 𝗦𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 "𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹": Think about the time lost in trade compliance. The platform is introducing 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻 and AI-driven advisory tools. This is how you use tech to remove the friction that costs billions.
- 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲: In trade, the winner is whoever sees the trend first. By giving negotiators and businesses instant data on market access and international laws, the UAE is turning 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘁𝘆.

This is a perfect example of "incorporating AI into processes" the right way. They integrated AI where the 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗲 was too high for humans to manage manually. This directly relates to my last post/video on whether organizations need to incorporate AI into their processes and why.

Software is the engine, but the UAE's trade routes are the body. We aren't just a global gateway; we are now the world's most efficient one as well.

The UAE has just concluded a high-impact week at 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, and the message to the world was clear: The Emirates is the global benchmark for 𝗔𝗜-𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 and 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽.

As the 5th largest international delegation, the UAE on the most critical "Physical AI" and economic challenges of our time.

- 𝗗𝘂𝗯𝗮𝗶 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 "𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁": The UAE signed a 5-year deal to host the 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹𝘀 in Dubai. We are officially the world's laboratory for anticipating global shifts.
𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: From the 𝗔𝗯𝘂 𝗗𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗜 to the 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁, we are building the physical and digital infrastructure to own the global supply chain of tomorrow.

2026 is proving that "Digital AI" is just the start. The UAE is leading the transition to 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘁𝘆. Whether it's Mubadala's global capital influence or the Ministry of Foreign Trade's AI integration, the Emirates is proving that speed, resilience, and quality are our greatest exports.
Software is the mind, but the UAE's strategic execution is the 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 moving the global economy forward.

​Everywhere we look, there is a push for AI. It's a breath of fresh air, but if we are being frank: there are still countless processes where AI is nowhere to be found.

​Even though the benefits are as "clear as crystal," we still see a deep hesitation from specialists across industries. Why? 

Because the transition is much more tedious and snail-paced than the headlines suggest.

​𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱:
- ​𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗚𝗮𝗽: It's one thing to use a chatbot; it's another to trust an AI to manage your supply chain or financial audit. Many specialists still fear the "black box," even when the manual alternative is clearly slower.
- ​𝗔 𝗧𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: AI integration isn't a "plug-and-play" flip of a switch. It requires a massive overhaul of data pipelines, culture, and trust. For most organizations, this is a slow, manual crawl.  
- ​𝗧𝗵𝗲 "𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿" 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘁: This is exactly why it's amazing to see UAE powerhouses like G42, Technology Innovation Institute, Department of Government Enablement, and ADNOC Group keeping AI at the forefront.

​𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗔𝗘 𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴:
​These organizations don't have a strict obligation to be the first movers, they choose to be.

They understand that in 2026, waiting for the technology to "mature" means being left behind. They are operating at a different speed, and that is exactly why they are 𝗡𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗨𝗻𝗼.

​We need to stop pretending that AI integration is easy. It's a grind. But the companies willing to push through the tedious work of today are the ones who will own the infrastructure of tomorrow.

​𝗪𝗵𝘆 this is a 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴:
- ​𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟵𝟳% 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁: A new KPMG study revealed that 𝟵𝟳% 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗔𝗘 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 already use AI in their daily lives. We aren't just teaching AI; we are educating a society that is already living in an AI-first reality.

​𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝗮𝗽: While 65% of residents trust AI information, there's a rising demand for 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀. The UAE is leading the way in "Responsible Adoption," with 68% of residents already feeling the current laws are a strong start.

​𝗠𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲: Having spent time at such institutes like American University of Sharjah, I've seen firsthand how academic rigor meets technical innovation.

​We are moving past the "Theoretical AI" phase. In the UAE, we are building the 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 of a future-ready workforce by ensuring students aren't just "using" tools, but 𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 them.

𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗜? (𝗧𝗵𝗲 "𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗽" 𝘃𝘀. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲)

The short answer: 𝗡𝗼.

The long answer: Most companies are rushing to "add AI" because of the hype, but adding a brain to a body that doesn't have a nervous system is useless.

I've seen too many firms try to force AI into every process when they haven't even fixed their 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Here is my take on where AI actually belongs:

𝟭. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 "𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴"? If you have massive amounts of data that is currently sitting in spreadsheets or "rotting" in the cloud because humans are too slow to process it manually, 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 is where AI belongs. If you are doing things "slowly and manually," you aren't just inefficient; you are losing money.

𝟮. 𝗔𝗜 isn't a "𝗣𝗹𝘂𝗴-𝗮𝗻𝗱-𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆" 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 You don't need AI in every single process. You need it where there is 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗲and 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. If a task requires deep human empathy or one-off creative strategy, leave it to the humans. If it requires scanning 10,000 invoices in seconds, give it to the AI.

𝟯. 𝗙𝗶𝘅 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗶𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 AI is only as good as the data it eats. If your data is messy or unorganized, your AI will be too. Companies need to stop asking "Where can we put AI?" and start asking "𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝘁?"

𝗠𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘄𝗮𝘆: Digital AI is a tool, not a magic wand. In the 𝗨𝗔𝗘, we are moving toward 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗜, finding the specific "bottlenecks" in our infrastructure and solving them with precision.

Don't automate for the sake of automation. Automate to unlock the data you've already paid for.

I've just been following the inauguration of the "𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲" summit by 𝗛.𝗘. 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗸𝗵 𝗡𝗮𝗵𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝘂𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗸 𝗔𝗹 𝗡𝗮𝗵𝘆𝗮𝗻 at Saadiyat Island. It is a powerful reminder that while the world is obsessed with "what" AI can build, the UAE is asking "𝘄𝗵𝘆" we are building it.

This summit is both a tech conference and a manifesto for the next era of 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻-𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗜.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀:

- 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: As Sheikh Nahyan beautifully put it: The question isn't whether machines can think, but how 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱. Our job as strategists is to ensure AI serves human dignity, not just speed and efficiency.
- 𝗔𝗜 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲: Governance isn't just about regulation but equally as important, the 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀. The UAE's approach is to embed ethics and tolerance into the very core of innovation.
- 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: With partners like MBZUAI (Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence), NVIDIA, and Meta, this summit proves that the future of AI is inherently global. We need shared standards and collective responsibility to manage its impact.

In my work I see this tension every day. It's easy to get lost in the "manual mess" of data and deployment, but we must remain the 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 and not foreshadow the strategic side of things.

Machines may learn and reason, but only humans can exercise 𝗷𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. The future won't be determined by thinking machines, but by the humans who care about the purpose behind them.

𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗻: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗔𝗘 𝗶𝘀 𝗨𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗜 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲

The 𝗨𝗔𝗘 is treating it as a data challenge.

The 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 (𝗡𝗖𝗠) just awarded $𝟰.𝟱𝗠 in grants to three global teams to solve water scarcity. This is cloud seeding with a mix of 𝗔𝗜, 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 is 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 "𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗜" 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁:
- 𝗔𝗜 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿: Instead of "spraying and praying," teams are using AI and dual-polarization radar to see inside clouds. They are mapping exactly how seeding materials react in real-time to replace guesswork with precision.
- 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗼-𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱𝘀: We are moving past salt crystals. Scientists are now using nanotechnology to design custom particles that force ice crystals to form more efficiently.
- 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵: The most ambitious part? Modification of the land itself. By changing terrain and ground cover, the UAE is testing if we can "trick" the atmosphere into creating rain-ready conditions naturally.

This is a perfect example of what happens when you have 𝗔𝗜-𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲. The UAE is funding research while providing the advanced labs and global data networks needed to turn a theory into a permanent solution.

In the UAE, we don't wait for the future to happen, we aim to take the initiative with a proactive approach and plan for it.

𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗔𝗘'𝘀 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 "𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴" 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

​While most governments are struggling to keep up with the pace of AI, the 𝗨𝗔𝗘 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 just flipped the script at 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

​In partnership with Presight and PwC, the UAE launched a first-of-its-kind whitepaper: "𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗔𝗘: 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲." We are moving away from fixed, "static" laws toward a 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗔𝗜-𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺.

​𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸:
- ​𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝘄𝗶𝗻: This is a live digital version of the UAE's entire legal system. It monitors changes in real-time, analyzes data, and even 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 of new laws on the economy and society before they are even passed.
- ​𝗦𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲-𝗶𝗻-𝘁𝗵𝗲-𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗽 (𝗦𝗚𝗶𝗟): A critical framework that ensures AI is the 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁, not the replacement. Humans remain the decision-makers at every stage, ensuring AI outputs align with our constitutional values and legal ethics.
- ​𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝘆𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀: The whitepaper introduces new roles that combine 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆. We are both changing the laws and also changing who writes them.
- ​𝗔 "𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗽": A continuous feedback system for proposing, testing, and deploying new AI use cases responsibly.

​I see this as the ultimate solution to the "regulatory lag" that kills innovation. By building an 𝗔𝗴𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺, the UAE is ensuring that our infrastructure both host the future and ensures that ​regulation is indeed a 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲.
