A few hours ago, Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Blocks and ex twitter CEO announced that Blocks is reducing its workforce by over 4000 roles, nearly half of its 10,000 team members.

Thousands of people waking up to an email that changes their life overnight.
Recently, shared that Block would reduce its workforce by more than 4000 roles. Nearly half the team. Not because the company is collapsing. In fact, the business is performing strongly. The shift is structural. AI is reshaping how work gets done, and leadership is choosing to build a leaner, AI driven organization.

This is not just about one company. It reflects a broader transition. Every founder and operator is quietly rethinking team structure, productivity, and how humans and AI will coexist inside organizations.

I want to say this directly to every leader, colleague, and founder I know.
If you ever have to let someone go, for any reason, please do the bare minimum with care.

A job is not just a role on a spreadsheet. It is someone’s rent. Someone’s school fees. Someone’s family security.

Restaurants can no longer automatically add service charges in India.
Under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, forcing customers to pay a service charge is treated as an unfair trade practice. Restaurants cannot make it compulsory or refuse service if you choose not to pay it.

A service charge is completely voluntary.
If it appears on your bill, you can simply ask the restaurant to remove it.
Honestly, even I did not know this until recently.
 So next time you check your bill, you know you have a choice.

What does this mean to you? 
• Service charges are strictly voluntary. 
• ⁠Refusal to pay can't affect service.
• ⁠GST cannot be applied to any service charge added without consent.
• ⁠No restaurant can collect the charge under any other name.

At its core, this is about pricing transparency and informed consent.

A fair market works only when customers clearly understand what they’re paying for.

PS: Service should earn a tip, not assume it.
