In my promotion to Sr. Manager, I facilitated team member onboarding and development for more than 150 locations in the United States and Canada. Team member learning and development was enhanced by fostering education vendor partnerships with cutting edge industry leaders. Client engagement was maximized through consistent development of team member knowledge and skills. I devised trainings, certifications, and workshops as well as provided mentorship, coaching, and collaboration with subject matter experts to drive team member career growth.
Examples of my contributions include:
• I launched a pilot and new organizational structure with the development of Change Management Communication Plan.
• The opening of 15 new locations was supported with training and education for managers.
• I achieved a reduction in new employee turnover by 8% year-over-year with the deployment of enhanced learning programs.

As National Education Manager, I created and implemented curriculum, certification guides, and resources. I drove the communication strategy for product enhancements. Virtual certification courses and trainings were delivered for 100-150+ new employees monthly. In addition, I improved the leadership culture through mentorship and leadership workshops.
Some of my accomplishments were:
• I led the hiring of 1000+ team members resulting in $23M in sales and $45M in annualized productivity.
• I pioneered the Career Acceleration Program for emerging leaders and mentors through self-paced workshops leading to an increase in employee satisfaction and productivity by 20%.
• Talent Acquisition efforts were supported by facilitating final interviews for 120 clubs resulting in 300+ new employees.
• The transition from a live classroom environment to virtual setting for new hires was orchestrated.

National Onboarding & Education Manager

In this position, I offered live certification courses to onboard new personal trainers each month for 12 clubs across region. I led the coaching of leaders and emerging leaders through our Leadership Awareness Course and Career Acceleration Program. Club visits were organized to provide coaching and mentorship to new personal trainers and leaders. I also managed my personal book of business and regularly exceeded performance goals.
Some noteworthy achievements included:
• I boosted year-over-year growth in headcount, productivity, and team member Net Promotor Score (NPS) with the implementation of a proprietary mentorship program and recovery programs to improve team culture.
• The mentorship program and leadership support workshops were employed resulting in improvement in new employee performance by 22%.

What a powerful conversation yesterday at the ATD Kansas City Panel: Partnering with AI — The Human Side of Change Management in Talent Development. I had the pleasure of facilitating this conversation with three experts in the space Kevin D. Meyer, Sheryl Kurtis, and Terri S. Turner.

We opened with this truth: AI isn’t coming for our jobs—it's coming for our comfort zones.

And throughout the discussion, that theme kept showing up.

Lately I’ve been reflecting on how important it is for me to follow my joy when I’m stepping into a new project.

That doesn’t mean I have to love every moment.

It means I need to feel inspired enough to keep moving, even when the work gets messy.

The idea has to align with my values, my gifts, and the impact I’m here to make.

I was sharing this with someone recently and told them something I don’t say often:
I’ve gone against the advice of the “experts” (who are brilliant at what they do) more than once—simply because it didn’t feel right for me.

Writing my book was one of those moments.

I was told to focus on one big project at a time.
I was told it wasn’t possible to move multiple things forward at once.
I was told I wouldn’t be successful unless I narrowed my energy.

But not by my definition of success.

When I look at my career and my business, my measure of success has never been productivity for productivity’s sake.

It’s the impact I make, the joy in the process, the people I get to collaborate with, the lessons I learn, and the lives that change along the way.

So here’s your reminder:
Success doesn’t require you to shrink your vision, mute your creativity, or follow a formula that was never meant for you.

Follow the projects that light you up.
Follow what feels aligned.
Follow your joy.

It will take you further than any expert ever could. 🩵

I did a thing! 🎉
This week I officially completed the AI and Career Empowerment course…perfect timing, because it also happens to be Association for Talent Development (ATD) Employee Learning Week.

If you know me, you know I’m a little obsessed with learning. Developing new skills, staying curious, and keeping up with market trends isn’t just something I do—it’s part of who I am. I’m committed to sharpening my toolkit so I can lead more effectively, coach more powerfully, and stay ahead of the shifts happening in the world of work.

This course stretched my thinking around how AI is reshaping leadership, creativity, productivity, and the everyday skills we all need to thrive. The market is changing fast, and I want to make sure I’m not just keeping up, but leading the way.

So this feels like the perfect way to celebrate Employee Learning Week: investing in myself, growing on purpose, and embracing the future instead of fearing it.

Here’s to continuous growth, new skills, and staying ready for whatever’s next.

Thanks to University of Maryland for offering this course, and to all the professors who contributed their time and expertise.

Now she’s learning to stand tall, sip from her cup, and sign her little heart out. We’re soaking up every moment.

5 Signs You’re Living Out of Alignment
(Even if you’re successful):

1. You hit milestones that don’t feel fulfilling
You checked the box. Got the promotion. Hit the goal.
And thought: “Is this it?”

2. You’re exhausted by work that used to energize you
It’s not burnout from working too much.
It’s misalignment from working on the wrong things.

3. You say yes when you mean no
Your calendar is full of obligations.
Your values? Nowhere to be found.

4. You’re performing a version of leadership that doesn’t feel like you
You lead the way you think you *should*.
Not the way you’re *wired* to lead.

5. You know something needs to change—but you don’t know what
The dissatisfaction is quiet. But it’s constant.

I’ll never forget the client who told me: “I’m so tired of feeling like I’m failing at everything—even though on paper I’m succeeding.”

She wasn’t failing. She was just trying to live up to everyone else’s definition of success.

Her boss wanted her to take on more leadership.  
Her partner wanted her to be more present at home.  
Her parents wanted her to prioritize family.  
Social media told her she should also be journaling, meditating, working out at 5am, and building a side hustle.

No wonder she was exhausted.

Here’s what changed: We stopped asking “How can I do it all?” and started asking “What actually matters to ME?”

Some of my favorite breakthroughs this year didn’t happen in a strategy deck or a planning session. They happened in conversations. In collaborations. In those moments where someone says, “Have you thought about it this way?” and suddenly the whole thing opens up.

They are joy.

I want to take you behind the scenes of something I’m building.

For the past year, I’ve been writing a book.

Not because I had all the answers.
But because I kept seeing the same pattern with every leader I coach:

They’ve “made it.” And they’re miserable.

They’re leading teams, raising families, crushing goals—and wondering why it all feels so *hard*.

“The Aligned Life” (working title) is my answer to that question.

It’s the framework I use with every client. The practices that help high-achievers lead without burning out. The permission to build a life that actually fits who you are.

I’m not going to lie—writing a book while coaching, leading, and living has been… a practice in alignment itself.

I can’t wait to share it with you.

Yesterday’s first snow of the season brought more than pretty views… it brought a moment I won’t forget.

On the way to take the baby to daycare, my car started sliding down the hill near our neighborhood. For a split second, I panicked—because when you have a little one in the back seat, everything in you goes into protection mode. But then I did the only thing I could: I let go. I stopped trying to fight the slide and just allowed the car to come to a stop on its own. Once it did, I turned around, took a different route, and we made it safely.

Later I learned that three school buses and multiple cars ended up stuck on that same hill. That could’ve so easily been us. 
Yesterday could’ve gone very differently… and I’m deeply grateful it didn’t.

It was a reminder that resilience isn’t always about pushing harder. Sometimes it’s about pausing, breathing, and choosing a safer, wiser path—even if it wasn’t the one you planned.

And while I’m in this space of gratitude, I have to say this: I’m incredibly thankful for the founding members of my book club. Your support means more than you know, and I’m excited for everything we’re building together.

Here’s to unexpected lessons, safe detours, and the people who make the journey meaningful.

A client once told me:

“I spent 15 years building a career I’m proud of. But I realized I was living someone else’s version of success.”

She’s a senior leader. From the outside, she has it all.

But her energy told a different story. She couldn’t remember the last time she felt genuinely lit up by her work.

In our first session, I didn’t ask her what she wanted to achieve.

I asked her: “If no one was watching, what would you do differently?”

The answer surprised her. (It usually does.)

Six months later, she’s still in the same role—but the energy she leads with is completely different:

She protects her calendar like it’s sacred

She delegates without guilt

She says no to work that drains her

She’s reconnected to the why behind her leadership

This is what alignment actually looks like.

It’s not about pushing harder.
Or adding more to your plate.
Or blowing up your life to start over.

It’s about learning to lead with energy, not just effort—and letting that shift change everything else.

One of the most powerful shifts I see in coaching happens when we bring the body into the conversation.

We often show up to coaching ready to think our way through a challenge — to analyze, to plan, to problem-solve.

But the body holds a different kind of intelligence.

When we pause long enough to notice what’s happening physically…the tightness in the chest, the breath that suddenly deepens, the warmth that comes with clarity…we access a deeper level of awareness.

That moment of noticing can reveal:
✨ what feels aligned (and what doesn’t),
✨ where resistance is showing up,
✨ and what our intuition has known all along.

This happens in my coaching sessions all the time.

Sometimes a client will stop mid-sentence and say, “Oh… I just felt that in my gut.”
That’s the body speaking.
That’s wisdom coming online.

Coaching isn’t just about shifting mindset — it’s about integrating mind, body, and emotion so our insights can actually take root.

So next time you’re reflecting on a big question, try starting here:
“What do I notice in my body right now?”
You might be surprised by what it already knows.

Growth is messy.
It’s not linear.
And even when things are going well, it can still feel like two steps forward and one step back.

I was talking about this with my friend and mentor, Sheryl Kurtis, and she said something that stopped me in my tracks:
“Two steps forward and one step back is still one step forward.”

Simple.
True.
And exactly what I needed to hear.

Because the real work of growth isn’t about perfection or momentum that never wavers.
It’s about continuing to move, even when it feels slow.

It’s about learning through the stumbles, not avoiding them.

It’s about trusting that progress is happening beneath the surface long before it’s obvious on the outside.

If you’re in a season where everything feels a little uneven, a little uncertain, or a little slower than you hoped… this is your reminder:
You are moving.
You are growing.
And every imperfect step still counts.
Keep going.

Your forward motion is adding up.

There are big changes on Wornall Road. 🛣️ Olsson partnered with Kansas City to help revitalize one of the city’s busiest stretches by making it more pedestrian-friendly with enhanced roads, sidewalks, and trails.
