Marketplace Maker: Our mission at Marketplace Maker is to digitise Africa's ecosystems. We're building multiparty B2SME marketplace ventures that connect established markets with underserved emerging economies. Our goal is to digitise, aggregate and orchestrate inclusive economic trade with and between small and micro enterprises (as digital franchises and digital cooperatives) for sustainable economic development. We envision equitable trade and shared ownership in Africa, for Africa, by Africa.

Wazee: Wazee is a decentralised digital platform business dedicated to digitally transforming skills development, building a globally accredited and skilled agile workforce (as-a-service), and unlocking the potential of the Africa’s youth. Our mission is to develop and enable Africa's youth to export their skills to the world.

Film Spaza: We're on a mission to re-imagine an equitable and inclusive film industry by aggregating independent creators and distributors, orchestrating the development, production, curation, distribution, and exhibition of films for underserved communities, and incorporating brands, communities, and audiences into local stories. We are committed to empowering and developing women, youth, and persons with disabilities while facilitating shared value equitably.

Personal Purpose:
My personal purpose is to create net new self-sustainable quality jobs in the platform and marketplace ecosystems we digitise.

Project Management Isn’t Dead --> The Steady-State Mindset Is.

Cliff Berg I wouldn’t go as far as saying project management is obsolete;
but I do think the assumptions it was built on are under serious strain.

Traditional project logic assumed a steady state:
- Define the future state; 
- Fund a time-bound initiative; 
- Deliver; 
- Return to stability.

That model made sense in slower, asset-heavy environments.

In a digitised, platform-driven, AI-amplified economy there is no steady state. 
- Capabilities degrade quickly
- Competitors iterate continuously
- Customer expectations shift mid-release.
- The “maintenance phase” no longer exists.

Where I strongly agree is on two points:
1) The market is a moving target.
2) Task-based percent-complete reporting gives false certainty.

But I don’t think the answer is abandoning project management. 

The real shift is structural:
🔸 From project-based financing to value-stream funding.
🔸 From temporary initiatives to persistent capability teams.
🔸 From task tracking to outcome tracking.
🔸 From milestone governance to continuous alignment.

What’s emerging isn’t “strategy execution management” as a replacement of "Project Management" 

... it’s adaptive, outcome-driven, value-stream execution with real end-to-end line-of-sight.

The discipline isn’t dead.
The steady-state worldview is.

Designing Inclusive AI Systems (Not Just Extractive or Efficient Ones)

AI can concentrate value, or expand participation.

The difference lies in architecture.

When AI is deployed without ownership design, workforce pathways, and platform governance, it amplifies existing inequalities.

When AI is embedded into:

• Structured skills-to-work pathways
• Decentralised execution models
• Platform ecosystems with shared participation
• Traceable capital and performance frameworks

It becomes an engine of economic inclusion.

In emerging markets, the opportunity is not to copy mature AI models.

It is to leapfrog, building AI-native operating systems without legacy constraints.

The question is not “How do we adopt AI?”

It is:

How do we design AI-enabled systems that expand economic participation rather than concentrate it?

AI Is Not a Tool. It Is Operating Infrastructure.

Most organisations are “adopting AI.”

Very few are redesigning their operating models around it.

AI does not create value by sitting inside a chatbot, a productivity plugin, or a pilot sandbox. It creates value when embedded into the execution spine of the organisation, where capital, capability, governance, and workflow converge.

The real transformation questions are:

• How does AI compress time-to-productivity?
• How does it reshape workforce architecture?
• How does it alter unit economics?
• How is it governed within regulated environments?
• How does it integrate with core systems (ERP, capital flows, compliance)?

If AI is not integrated into your operating model, it remains experimental overhead.

Transformation is not about tools.
It is about structure.

The Execution Spine

Most transformation efforts don’t fail because of technology.

They fail because the execution architecture is broken or nonexistent.

I see the same pattern across AI programmes, platform ventures, workforce initiatives, and institutional reform:

When strategy, capital, platforms, capability, and governance are not deliberately integrated, digital tools amplify inefficiency and ineffectiveness rather than value creation.

Effective transformation requires a coherent execution spine:

→ Ecosystem Strategy
→ Capital Structuring
→ Platform Architecture
→ Workforce & Capability Architecture
→ AI-Embedded Service Execution
→ Revenue & Performance Flows
→ Distributed Value & Ownership

Remove any one of these, and the system destabilises.

That’s when you get:

• AI pilots with no absorption
• Skills programmes disconnected from economic demand
• Platforms without liquidity
• Capital deployed without productivity visibility
• Innovation without accountability

Not just projects, pilots, or slide decks.

Execution architecture.

Without it, AI is a feature.

With it, AI becomes scalable and inclusive infrastructure.
