Second semester of my MBA at Miva Open University is in full swing.

Honestly, I surprised myself.

Balancing an MBA, personal projects and life as a mom of two has not been easy. I take excellence seriously, so I put real effort into this. The exam scores so far tell the truth. The work is paying off.

That said, I am not doing this alone.

I use systems. And I use tools.

Beyond the Pomodoro technique, my biggest productivity hack this semester has been NotebookLM.

Here is how I use it, practically.

I upload my course PDFs, lecture notes, and slides.

NotebookLM reads only what I upload. It does not pull random internet content.

It generates clear summaries from my actual materials.

It creates flashcards based on key concepts and definitions.

It helps me generate practice questions and quizzes, aligned to my course content.

I can ask follow-up questions and it responds using my notes as the source.


This matters because MBA materials are bulky. Dense. Easy to postpone. On days when reading 80 pages feels impossible, I still make progress. I study smarter, not longer.


It also works at work.

Operators and PMs can use it to:
- Summarize PRDs, specs, and research.
- Create quick briefs.
- Retain context without rereading everything.


NotebookLM does not replace effort. It removes friction.

Hard work still matters. Systems make it sustainable.

The best PM work I've done started with uncertainty, not confidence. Why are users doing this? What problem actually exists here? What happens if we do nothing?

Early on, I thought being good meant showing up with solutions. I've learned the harder skill is slowing down—listening more, creating space for the team to think together, resisting the pressure to look certain when you're not.

Good questions do the real work. They collapse confusion into clarity, surface risks before they're expensive, and reduce cycles of rework.

You don't need to be the smartest person in the room. You need to be the most thoughtful.

Getting started with A/B tests as a product manager can feel more intimidating than it needs to be.

You hear terms like statistical significance, sample size, and confidence intervals, and suddenly a simple experiment feels like a data science project.

It doesn’t have to be that way.

A/B testing is really about learning in a structured way.

Start with a clear question.
What are you trying to improve. Activation. Conversion. Retention. Don’t test for the sake of testing.

Form a simple hypothesis.
“If we change X, we expect Y to happen because Z.” If you can’t explain it plainly, the test isn’t ready.

Pick one primary metric.
One. Not five. This keeps your results clean and your decisions clearer.

Change one thing at a time.
Multiple changes make it impossible to know what actually worked.

Agree on success before you launch.
Decide upfront what “winning” looks like and how long the test will run. No moving goalposts after.

Document the result.
Even failed tests are valuable. Write down what you learned and what you’d do differently next time.

The goal of A/B testing isn’t to win every experiment. It’s to reduce guesswork and make better decisions over time.

If you’re new to A/B testing, what part feels most confusing right now?

Stop optimizing for acquisition when your infrastructure can't handle retention.

We've normalized a broken playbook: burn budget acquiring users, then watch them churn because the product literally can't handle the load.

The math is absurd. Your growth team targets 100K signups. Your infrastructure breaks at 40K concurrent users. You hit your KPI, celebrate, then firefight through crashes while support drowns in tickets. Half your expensive acquisition walks away before experiencing the actual product.


This isn't a growth strategy. It's waste with extra steps.

Three things product managers should enforce:
1. Infrastructure audits before the campaign launches. If your servers can't handle your acquisition target, your target is fiction.

2. Retention metrics weighted equally with acquisition. DAU/MAU, activation rates, and technical stability aren't secondary. They're the entire point.

3. Killing campaigns that outpace capacity. Sometimes the right move is saying "we're not ready to scale this yet."


The blunt truth: stable infrastructure and thoughtful onboarding convert better than any ad creative. A user who experiences your product once beats ten users who bounce at loading screens.


Growth isn't about how many people you can get in the door. It's about how many you can actually serve once they're inside.
