Hi, I’m Sarat, founder of LeadYouth. I’m dedicated to helping youth become excellent speakers, leaders and emotionally intelligent thinkers. I love presenting and leading for the impact they create. Before LeadYouth, I spent 12 years in IT, specializing in programming and ERP apps, and earned an MBA from WP Carey School. 

As a former high school debater and leader, confidence fueled my success in IT. Now, as a mother of four teens, I’m passionate about helping kids build the same foundation. Through LeadYouth, I empower students (8+) with leadership, communication, and EI skills for success in school, career, and life.

Seeing my students grow inspires me. With the right support, they can become leaders, entrepreneurs, and change-makers.

🤭 Why Game Developers Should Lead Education Innovation?

🕹️ Game developers are rarely required to study child or educational psychology in their degrees but design games that hook youth through intuitive mastery of human curiosity, motivation, and dopamine-driven stimulation. 

🎓 Education and Data Science degrees incorporate psychology into their curricula to understand human behavior, yet the Edtech tools and AI apps they produce often fail to captivate learners. 

And don't forget, kids only spend ~ 25% of their time in school (hopefully learning 😀).

🤔 Curiosity, the basic instinct behind human learning, thrives on tailored cognitive stimulation and value exploitation, which games deliver effortlessly.

Investor Vinod Khosla predicts that "within the next five years, any economically valuable job humans can do, AI will be able to do 80% of it…80% of all jobs can be done by an AI" (Fortune interview, July 1, 2025). Meanwhile, future jobs increasingly demand uniquely human traits like curiosity, creative thinking, resilience, and motivation to thrive alongside AI. These are precisely the qualities games foster effortlessly through engaging mechanics ➡️ dopamine-driven curiosity loops and tailored stimulation. This is especially critical for the 450 million youth who currently lack adequate skills for the labor market (UNESCO World Youth Skills Day 2025).

🙏🏻 May we try something different? Empower game developers to infuse education with their engagement expertise, bridging the gap between failing Edtech and a curiosity-driven future.

Game devs understand behavioral mechanics intuitively, fostering motivation and emotion that Edtech lacks, all while prioritizing player satisfaction over mere efficiency. But then game devs aren't educators as they build for fun, not formal learning, missing the chance to apply this to societal needs.

Gamification in education already shows promise. Khan Academy's badges and points boost completion; Duolingo's streaks enhance retention; Classcraft turns classrooms into quests, raising math/reading scores and enthusiasm. 

This switch could turn failing engagement and anxious youth into confident adults and leaders.
