For years, I doubted if I could downhill ski. ⛷️
(My knees used to shake just thinking about it.)

Not because I didn’t want to.
But because I didn’t have the stamina, the timing, or the mental space… 
(while raising small children)

Then something shifted last year.
I saw my kids skiing independently with other mom friends (and their kids).
And I thought… I want that too.
I want to create those memories with them, not just watch from the sidelines.

Coming from the tropics, learning a winter sport at 40+ takes more than confidence.
It takes stamina, timing, support, and a healthy dose of beginner’s mindset.

This weekend, I went back to the learning slope.
Not the mountain. Not the “cool” runs. The beginner slope. Again.

Last year, I learned the basics with a professional instructor: how to stop, how to turn, how to fall safely. 
I was nervous, cold, and constantly worried about my knees and my kids.

This year, I came back with something different: Commitment.
(Long-term commitment to learn and enjoy this sport)

My kids can ski independently now.
I sleep better.
I train lightly.
I show up calmer.

And this time, my husband was there.
Guiding me. Lifting me up when I fell. Telling me when to slow down.
Reminding me I can still turn with “pizza” instead of forcing a slalom too soon.

I had to do something new too: listen.
Not as a wife. Not as a parent. But as a student.
I fell once.
I practiced stopping.
I practiced turning slowly.
By the last runs, something shifted: less fear, more flow, building confidence and muscle memory slowly.

What surprised me most wasn’t the skiing.
It was realizing how much timing matters.
There is a season in life for surviving.
And a season for becoming again.

For years, my energy went into raising kids and building a business.
I thought my low stamina meant I was done learning intensive sports.
Turns out… I just wasn’t ready yet.

So here's to fellow moms rediscovering their strengths.
To the women leading teams while quietly rebuilding themselves.
To the partners who guide us with patience.
And to anyone brave enough to start as a beginner… again.

It's never too late to learn something new.

One learning slope at a time. ❄️

And yes… being short has its perks. 
Blending in with the kids at the beginner slope never felt so strategic. Lol.

We surveyed 50 mid-market B2B marketing leaders with Wynter. The data is violent.

72% are actively slashing budgets for paid ads, content syndication, or agencies.

This isn't a "hot take." It is a capital flight happening in real time.

Where the money is leaving:
• 46% cutting paid ads
• 40% cutting content syndication
• 30% dropping agencies

One CMO didn't sugarcoat it: "We're canceling contracts where we can."

A marketing director explained why: "Lack of qualified leads, Google and all our typical funnels are bringing in trash."

So where is the money going?

1. Events
46% are increasing investment in physical presence. Not webinars but handshakes.

One senior director told us: "2025 showed us a clear demand for in-person... we are increasing spend to have a larger presence."

2. Partnerships 

44% are moving budget here. The logic is simple: Borrow trust instead of buying impressions.

One CMO explained: "Brand visibility through sponsoring influencers... scaling programs that provide solid ROI."

3. AI

62% are investing more in AI/Automation. But not for "innovation" but for survival.

One CMO admitted the quiet part: "The expectation from our investment firm is that no one should be adding people because AI is gonna deliver that extra capacity."

The takeaway:

Leaders are abandoning rented audiences and returning to owned relationships. Paid ads got too expensive. Syndication leads never convert.
