Want to see just how much LinkedIn user behavior changes over the holidays?

For the last 2 weeks of the year, virtually nobody was even online to see ads.

This pattern is very common among our customers. The blue line represents daily clicks, the bars represent daily spend, and the orange line represents CPC.

What you clearly see is a massive drop-off in spend and clicks, as our software refused to chase the low supply of expensive clicks available.

With less people online (reduced supply) and just as many advertisers (maintained demand) the cost of these clicks can get crazy.

Then, as soon as people returned to work, the campaign is able to scale spend significantly and preserve a healthy CPC (just a slight increase).

This is about as clean of a visualization as you'll get for LinkedIn ad auction dynamics and user behavior.
