Over the next few weeks, I’ll be addressing some of the most frequent and important questions I’m being asked about my new book, China’s 90% Model.

Let me start with the first one: “Isn’t this just protectionism?”

It’s a fair question. And it deserves a serious answer.

When a country builds 90% of global capacity in key industries, subsidizes prices below cost, and keeps its currency structurally undervalued, that is not free competition.

That is strategic dominance.

There is a difference between blocking competition and responding to state-sponsored industrial annihilation.

Leaders must be clear about that difference.
