Business Development Representative

This is a colon cancer PSA: Protein dominates the conversation in health and fitness circles. Meanwhile people are being diagnosed with colon cancer in their 30’s and 40’s and dying from it. 

This is my petition to bring fiber to the forefront of health conversations. You can get 32% of your daily fiber + protein from half a cup of lentils and a serving of rice. 

It doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive to get enough fiber but we do have to be intentional if you’re used to following the standard American diet. 

And on that note, any changes in your digestion is worth mentioning to your doctor. People are often diagnosed with little to no symptoms. No one likes talking about digestion but it would be a hell of a shame to pass away early because of the stigma. 

Eat your fiber, pay attention to your digestion and don’t avoid that colonoscopy. And tell your friends and family to do the same!

An underrated and kind of inefficient way to train SaaS sales reps: Bring them along while YOU are evaluating a new SaaS tool.

Earlier in my SDR days my manager at the time invited me along to a meeting. We had a tool that we loved, but had limitations, so when a new competitor reached out, we were very eager to see what they had to show us. Stupid easy meeting to book. 

I was a silent observer, along with me was my manager, and one of the AEs I worked along with, their AE, and their solution engineer. The engineer also happened to be one of the founders of said company. 

I was extremely familiar with the tool we had, and thus semi familiar with the tool we were evaluating, I watched as my team asked questions and got back answers that left them confused. I watched as the engineer slowly became more and more defensive with each new question while my side of the team attempted to reach clarity. 

Their engineers tone changed. My teams tone changed. This couldn’t have been a more perfect training if someone had designed it. I didn’t know until that moment that body language could be so observable on zoom. 

I knew the moment my team decided against it and the moment their engineer gave up even attempting to explain his solution. And it all could be traced back to my side of the team being confused, and their side meeting the confusion with defensiveness over the tool.
