After a conversation with a client a few months ago, I have been thinking a lot about the power of 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Not the kind that ignores reality – the kind that invites you to dream beyond it.

Because every visionary I know has been just delusional enough to believe in something before the evidence arrived.
And honestly? That belief isn’t foolish. It’s fuel.

James Clear says it well:

Dreaming Beyond Logic: The Case for Beautiful Delusion

Lately, I’ve been having so many conversations marked by pain and isolation – in relationships, across industries, and within teams.

There’s confusion, misunderstanding, and a longing to feel safe again.

And so, we reach for sameness.
For people who “get us.”
Who see the world the way we do.

And that’s valid – sometimes even essential.
But I keep wondering… where does that comfort start to cost us?
Where does it slip from safety into separation?
When does it stop protecting us – and start isolating us?

Because the more we retreat into sameness,
the more we lose the art of listening.
The ability to stay curious.
To bridge.
To grow.

Real kindness isn’t only soft – it’s brave.
It’s found in the willingness to listen,
to stay open, even when it’s uncomfortable.

Because wholeness – individually and collectively – doesn’t come from sameness.
It comes from range.
From presence.
From choosing to stay connected, even when it’s easier to turn away.
