Throughout high-school, university and my first jobs, I was a lousy public speaker.
Any time I had to go in front of an audience, my legs started trembling, my head got red and my breath was barely enough to maintain three words. Back then, I thought that is just what I have to deal with every time. 

Luckily, I learned that it doesn’t have to be that way. 

During my MBA, I started taking improv class. First improv, then acting, and then storytelling.
With each class, I realized that public speaking is not rocket science. You don’t have to be a natural born storyteller. There are, actually, a few powerful techniques that you can use to become a great storyteller.

Realizing that, I started coaching friends & colleagues on storytelling.

With each month, I was coaching more and more people on storytelling. 

At one point, I thought: ”This is cool. I get so much energy out of this. Why don’t I make this my job?" And that’s when I started Power of Storytelling.

Now I do what I love: Help others discover the storyteller that is within each one of us ❤️!

Something I hate in presentations…

Audience member: “Excuse me, I have a question…”
Presenter: “Great question! Let's take this offline ok? I’ll get back to you on that.”
(…and then never does)

I see this all the time.
The presenter doesn’t know the answer → promises to follow up → disappears.
Result? They lose credibility and shut down real dialogue.

Here’s the better way:

Audience member: “Excuse me, I have a question…”
Presenter: “That’s a great question. I don’t have the answer right now, but let me write it down and get back to you later today.”
(And then actually do it.)

💡 Respect the question.
That’s how you build trust instead of breaking it.

🔥 I tried the hottest sh*t in the longevity world.

Here in Canggu, Bali, I stepped into one of those hyperbaric chambers.

Did it make me immortal? Probably not.
But I did walk out feeling ridiculously alive.

Not sure if that officially makes me a biohacker… but I’ll take it.

I studied 104 speakers to figure out why their stories were so captivating.

After breaking them down, I found 20 storytelling techniques that kept showing up again and again.

The best part? You don’t need all 20.
Even using 1–2 of these can take a story from “meh” → unforgettable.

How do you get in the zone before a big presentation?

For me, it’s a 1-hour walking meditation.
Rain, wind, or sunshine...I head to the park.

As I walk, I visualize myself as a confident, magnetic speaker:

👉 Here to serve
👉 Actually having fun on stage

It might sound unusual, but this routine has completely changed my stage presence. I show up grounded, focused, and connected.

I used to do Joe Dispenza’s guided walking meditations, but now do it unguided.

You’ve got 7 seconds ⏱️ .

That’s how long you have to grab your audience’s attention.

If you waste it on boring context, they’ll check out:

“What should I eat tonight? Pasta? Pizza? …Wait, what’s this guy even talking about?”

You only get one shot at a first impression. Make it count.

Here are 3 of my favorite ways to start strong:

1️⃣ Jump into the Action
Drop us right into the scene.
“I stood at my manager’s door, took a breath, knocked three times… and saw HR sitting inside.”

2️⃣ Ask a Question
Make them reflect.
“Have you ever walked away from everything you knew to start over?”

3️⃣ Use a Cliffhanger
Begin at the most crucial moment, but don’t reveal it all yet.
“I held the letter in my hand. I knew it would change my life forever. But let’s rewind…”

💡 If you hook them early, they’ll stay with you.
Miss it, and you’ll lose them before you even begin.

We forget 95% of the information from a typical lecture or presentation.

It’s insane when you think about it.


Most presentations = in one ear, out the other.

But here’s the thing: the problem isn’t our memory.
It’s how the content is taught.

Here’s what the science shows we actually retain:

	•	Reading: 10%
	•	Discussion: 50%
	•	Practice by doing: 75%
	•	Teaching others: 90%

The secret? Turn students into teachers.

Next time you present, don’t just talk.
Ask your audience to explain the idea to someone nearby.
