Peter C. Leighton, 27 years of proven experience as a trusted advisor in the fields of business development, client relations and marketing. He has earned a South Florida professional reputation as an expert on adult development, senior care, the elderly, aging in place and special needs clients. Peter serves as Client Relationships Specialist at PLR CPAs, South Florida’s premier full-service accounting firm. The boutique firm handles tax services, business services, bookkeeping and corporate tax preparations. He has been recognized by mid-level management peers in 2007, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2018, 2019 and 2020, 2025, as Network Professional of the Year inside Business Network International. Peter served as a volunteer corporate trainer and ambassador for BNI-Miami 2008 to 2021, training 2500 plus local small business CEO's and C-Level managers on word-of-mouth marketing techniques, brands and how to make more money. He served The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce 2010-2018, as BNI Chamber Ambassador. Peter has served on the boards of The Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walks and Impact Broward for a combined 13 years. Peter is State of Florida, Dept. of Elder Affairs and The Agency for Health Care Administration, C.O.R.E. trained to manage assisted living communities. He is a Florida State approved Health Care Instructor for Continuing Education Courses (CE-215). Peter is Certified in Mediation by the State of New York. In 2020, Peter was appointed by his senior care peers and lawyers to the Board of Directors, Broward County Guardianship Association. In 2021, Peter joined forces with Florida Business Leaders, 2023, BNI Broward, and in 2025 Prime Time. He launched BDPros in 2025. Previous to his career in CPA circles, he held roles in law firm business development and senior care. Peter served Higher Education administration and faculty roles for 12 years. He worked at Arizona State, R.I.T. & FIU. He holds a M.S. Ed. in Higher Education from Florida State University, specialty in group leadership and dynamics and a B.A. degree, Psychology, emphasis in Counseling, from The University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Seven years of proven law firm marketing, branding and intentional relationship connecting, resulting in $6.9 million gross revenue to the bottom line of one law firm with 14 attorneys.
