Last week, a $2M ARR SaaS founder showed me their "high-converting" cold email template.

Word for word:

→ "Quick question about [pain point]..."

Here’s what no template guru talks about:

The so-called “growth experts” make it sound like more cold emails+DMs = more deals. If that were true, majority founders would be at $10M ARR by now.

But every week, I see hundreds of smart founders quietly burning budget, chasing reply rates in the low single digits, then blaming themselves when deals stall or go silent.


→ “You need flashier content to cut through.”
No, you don’t. You need content that’s written from the buyer’s perspective. Not viral hacks, but messages that address your buyers’ biggest anxieties.

That’s how trust is built. By being the one person who finally speaks to what nobody will say out loud.
I learned this after working with 100+ tech founders.

→ “Keep automating. If you’re not scaling, you’re not trying hard enough.”
We all get seduced by automation. I did too. Until a “scaled” outbound campaign nearly nuked our sender reputation and buried pipeline for months.

And worse - took thousands to outreach to crack messag-market-fit.

"CEOs posting on LinkedIn is a waste of time."

That's what I told myself before starting on LinkedIn.

I had a product to build. A team to manage. Customers to close.

LinkedIn felt like a distraction for people who had too much time on their hands.

Then I lost a $27K deal. Was devastatingly huge back then.

And I did not lose it to a competitor.

The prospect just… stopped responding.

Here's what happened - We had the stronger framework. Better pricing. Better references.

But after 6 weeks of back-and-forth, their buying committee couldn't align.

Too many stakeholders. Too many conflicting priorities. Too much uncertainty.

They chose "no decision" over choosing us.

That's when it hit me:

→ Almost zero acquisition cost, at scale

But here's the real shift:

👉 Our buyers don't just believe in our product anymore.
👉 They believe in trusted, guided, intentional, and certain buying journeys.
👉 Because we became the clarity they couldn't find elsewhere.

Your buyers are researching you right now.

And they're asking themselves - "Does this company understand how hard it is to evaluate and identify business automation?"

If you're not creating content that answers that question.. content that guides them through their uncertainty... you're invisible when it matters most.

I was dead wrong about lead magnets.

For years, I thought the playbook was simple:

Create valuable content → Collect emails → Convert to customers

It made sense on paper.

More leads = more pipeline = more revenue.

But here's what actually happened -

👉 We collected thousands of emails.
👉 Prospects downloaded our ebooks like crazy.
👉 Then ghosted the moment we asked for a demo.
