Recently, I met Mr. Toyoyuki Ushioda in person in Singapore — an experienced CFO and angel investor — after previously attending a session he moderated with Kevin Brockland, CFA on how #AI is shaping the evolution of venture.

In our discussion, he raised an important concern: as AI becomes more embedded in finance, will younger professionals risk losing the chance to build strong fundamentals?

I also had the opportunity to connect with Mervin Lee from Farquhar Capital, where we exchanged views on AI’s growing role in venture decision-making.

Across both conversations, one theme stood out — while #AI is accelerating how we build and invest, fundamentals and judgment still matter more than ever.
