Hey, I’m Olivia Deka - I work across the venture ecosystem with founders, funds, and LPs - to turn relationships into capital outcomes. My focus is early-stage, where deal flow, co-investors, and credible positioning matter most.

Over the past decade, I’ve built a career that cuts across nonprofits, startups, venture platforms, and advisory. From founding a social impact organisation that scaled across India & EMEA, to operating inside startups, to building global partnerships with VCs, Founders, and ecosystem enablers - each step has shaped how I now work with capital allocators and founders.

Currently, I split my time between:
	•	Working w VC funds and the larger ecosystem on bridging gaps across - Startegy & ops, fundraising and ecosystem positioning
	•	Supporting founders with deal readiness, capital introductions, and investor communications
	•	Running The Capital Room, a platform convening women investors and emerging women managers
	•	Championing ecosystem evangelism through events, thought partnerships, and cross-border community building

What I bring is breadth of network and depth of trust. I don’t limit myself to one sector or geography; instead, I specialise in building capital pathways - between Global South founders and global investors, between LPs and new managers, between startups and growth enablers.

I move fluidly across industries and geographies while keeping focus on one outcome - helping the right people, funds, and companies connect and grow.

I’ve sat with this post for a while.

The roundtable happened on 18th December 2025 - and it’s January 2026 today. Some rooms take time to land in your body before they land on LinkedIn.

This one did.

It started very simply.

Manav N. called me one day randomly and said he will be in Bangalore for two days.
“Let’s do something.”

No brief. No deck. No long discussion. Just trust and intent.

The format came to me almost instinctively- a closed room, no posturing, no pitching, just people who have actually moved capital, built institutions, and supported founders across borders. People who’ve done this work in the US, EU, LATAM, Middle East, Africa, and APAC- often quietly, often over decades.

The first call I made after that was to Madhusmita Das.

She’s my go-to person these days because she always tells me the truth and has been supporting The Capital Room since Day 1.

And because long before TCR had polish, we hosted our first ever TCR event at her home- on her rooftop- DIY, figuring things out as we went, because early-stage reality is always tighter on budget than it is on ambition.

So when I called her this time, it came from that same place of trust. She was onboard immediately with Leo Capital as a partner.

A few days later, a random catchup text from Parth Dalmia turned into a short coffee and within 30 minutes, Amazon Web Services (AWS) joined the room.

From first call to full table, it all came together in under 15 days- even while I was travelling.

And during that window, Phalgun Chidanand from EVERGREEN HOUSE held the execution with so much care- the space, the flow, the food, the feeling- creating the kind of hospitality where people slow down enough to think properly. That gentleness matters more than we admit.

What stayed with me most wasn’t the logos or the speed.

It was the quality of the room.

Leaders who’ve spent years backing founders, enabling cross-border expansion, and making capital move responsibly… showing up not to speak louder, but to listen better. ROHIT BAFNA, Abhay Tandon quietly invited others who should be in the room, expanding it with discernment rather than noise.

We ended the year 2025 with one of the most thoughtful conversations I’ve personally been part of and that doesn’t happen because of planning alone. It happens because of shared values.

I’m grateful- deeply- for everyone who showed up with openness, generosity, and intellectual honesty.

Some rooms are built fast.
But they’re carried forward slowly.

This one will stay with me for a while.
