I like how this paper draws a hard line between task decomposition and real delegation. Most agent stacks today can split a goal and fan out tool calls, but they rarely encode what humans mean by delegation, which is authority transfer, responsibility boundaries, accountability for outcomes, and the right monitoring hooks to intervene when things drift. The most actionable part for builders is the mapping from “delegation requirements” to “technical protocols”, where delegation becomes an engineering surface you can implement, audit, and iterate, not a vibes based orchestration pattern.

The other idea that stuck with me is the adaptive coordination cycle. Delegation is treated like a runtime system that must detect triggers, diagnose root cause, decide whether the situation is reversible or urgent, and then re-route work, escalate to a human, or terminate. That framing feels closer to incident response and SRE than to prompting, which is exactly where agentic systems break in production.

Where I am less convinced is the jump to heavyweight guarantees like smart contracts or cryptographic verification as default building blocks. They are conceptually neat, but without explicit cost and threat models, it is easy to end up with expensive “trust theater” that teams cannot operationalize.
