Understanding HTTP Request Methods: A Beginner's Guide

→ GET: Retrieves data from the server.  
    It should only retrieve data and should have no other effect on the data.  

→ POST: Sends data to a server to create a new resource.  
    The data is included in the body of the request.  

→ PUT: Similar to POST, but used to update an existing resource by ID.  

→ PATCH: Updates resources but only modifies the fields included in the request.  

→ DELETE: Deletes a resource.  
    Regardless of the number of calls, it returns the same result.  

→ OPTIONS: Used to get information about possible communication options for the given URL or an asterisk to refer to the entire server.  

→ HEAD: Similar to GET, but does not return the list of customers.  
    Typically used to check if a resource is available and to get metadata.  

→ TRACE: Used for diagnostic purposes.  
    It echoes the received request so a client can see changes made by intermediate servers.  

→ CONNECT: Used for making end-to-end connections between a client and a server.  
    It creates a two-way connection like a tunnel between them.
