3. Your banner = your instant credibility badge
Use this space to:
- Show what you do
- Highlight your results
- Add a clear call to action
Visuals matter. Design it like a landing page.

4. About section = your story-driven pitch
First 2 lines = hook. You need to get the Attention of your lead so he continues reading.
Explain who you help, what problems you solve, and how.

5. Featured section = your conversion zone
What should live here?
- Screenshots of real results
- A client case study carousel
- A quick video of your process
- A link to book a call or grab a free resource
This is where interest turns into action.

There's a prospecting trick that no one uses (but it works insanely well)

Most people send messages like:
“Hey Brian, thanks for accepting my invite.”

Try this instead:
“Hey, thanks for accepting my invite Brian.”

It looks tiny.
But psychologically? It’s powerful.

Because your message no longer fits the “automated pattern” people see 100 times a day.

The name shows up right at the moment they’re actually paying attention. Not at the beginning where their brain skims over it.

So your message feels more personal, more human, and far less like a cookie-cutter template.

A tiny shift in wording.

A big shift in reply rates.

There are hundreds of mistakes you can make when doing cold outreach.
But these are the 4 you absolutely need to avoid if you want to see real results. 👇🏼

1️⃣ Going too fast
Not taking the time to set up your domain properly, warm up your emails, or optimize your LinkedIn profile.
Skipping these steps or ignoring sending limits is a guaranteed way to ruin your deliverability.

2️⃣ Using unqualified lead lists
Pulling data in bulk, not cleaning it up, and contacting people outside your ICP is a waste of effort.
If you’re not reaching the right people, you’ll never get any reply and never make a sale.

3️⃣ Ignoring buying intent
When you reach out, there needs to be a reason.
Target people who are ready to buy or at least open to hearing what you have to say.

4️⃣ Weak copywriting
Even if you contact the right people at the right time, you still need a solid messaging strategy.
Your copy has to spark curiosity and drive action. That’s what converts.

I’ve spoken with hundreds of founders who made these mistakes in their outreach.
And none of them saw consistent results.

If you avoid them, I can guarantee that you’ll be well on your way to succeeding with cold outreach.

These are the main mistakes that kill your meeting rate :

6 mistakes killing your meeting rate in Outbound

Your prospects won’t buy from you because you have the best product.
They'll only buy because they think you do.
And this is one of the 22 laws of marketing. 👇🏼

We call it the Law of Perception.

The law of perception says that people don’t buy based on reality.
They buy based on how they perceive reality.

And that changes everything.

This is why brand image and positioning matter more than most people think.

Just look at Patagonia 👇

They didn’t become iconic by shouting about materials or specs.
They became the go-to eco-responsible outdoor brand. The one “closest to nature.”

Now ask yourself:
Are Patagonia jackets more durable than Gore Wear’s? I’m not sure.
Do they use better materials than Helly Hansen? Can’t say.
Are they higher quality than Mammut? Not 100% convinced.

But here’s what I am sure of:
- You’ve heard of Patagonia.
- You associate them with sustainability and outdoor ethics.
- You even probably own a fleece, jacket, t-shirt, or hat from them.

Now...
Have you even heard of Gore Wear, Helly Hansen, or Mammut?
I'm not sure.

Perception isn’t just a part of marketing. It is marketing.

Shape how people see you. The rest will follow.

In 2025, outbound without triggers is just spam. 
Here's how to stand out:

Let’s face it: cold outreach doesn’t work like it used to.

Decision-makers are overwhelmed. Their inboxes are war zones.
Generic emails? They don’t even make it past the subject line.

So what’s working in 2025?
👉 Trigger-based prospecting.

I don’t send a single message unless I’ve identified a strong, relevant signal that says:
“Hey, this person might actually want to hear from me.”

But what’s a trigger, exactly?
It’s an event that indicates potential intent. Something that makes your outreach timely, personalized, and not ignored.

Think:
- New leadership hire
- Product launch
- Company funding
-  Tech stack change
- Job posting for a pain-point role

Just to name a few.

My best advice if you plan to use outbound:
Stop messaging leads who haven’t shown any behavior indicating interest.
And start watching for real buying signals.

It’s slower, yes. But way more effective.

I don’t read 90% of the cold messages I get. 
You probably don’t either. Neither do your prospects.
Here’s how to change that:

1. Collect real data before you write
Stop guessing.
Start researching.
Look into their role, recent activity, company news, even their tone of voice.

The more you know, the easier it is to write something that actually clicks.

Personalization isn't about {first_name}. It's about relevance.

2. Talk to them, not about you
Your cold message shouldn’t sound like a mini pitch deck.
If it starts with “I help companies…” you can hit backspace.

Talk about their challenges.
Ask questions. Be curious. Show empathy. That’s how trust starts.

3. Keep it human
Overthinking kills authenticity.
Yes, write clearly. But don’t over-edit.

Would you speak like this to a colleague?
If not, rewrite it until it sounds like you.

The goal of cold outreach isn't to close a deal on message 1.

It's to start a conversation. 
Create a connection.
Build trust.

97% of your prospects aren’t ready to buy your services today.
Yet I’m willing to bet you’re talking to everyone with the same message.

The 3% rule says that only a tiny fraction of your prospects are ready to make a purchase.

The problem is, most companies use the same marketing actions and the same messaging for everyone:

But for the other 97%, your job is to generate demand.

That happens through:

Yes, it might take a few months.

But that’s the time it takes if you want the majority of your prospects to be ready to buy from you.
