Leading Country Directors (Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, DRC, AMF - Zambia, Tanzania and growing)
- I act as their primary point of contact offering support, guidance, and leadership to ensure they achieve set targets.
- I develop and implement strategies to support the growth and achieve set volume targets for the different countries.
- I provide leadership and guidance to effectively manage the franchise network, ensuring adherence to brand standards, operational procedures, and quality control.

Chipper Cash

As a Growth Marketing Manager at Chipper Cash, a venture-capital-backed Financial Technology (FinTech) company headquartered in the United States, I led strategic marketing initiatives in Uganda to optimize user acquisition and retention. 

One of my key contributions was successfully introducing Chipper to different segments of the Uganda market, including remittance senders through innovative marketing ideas. I recruited, closed, and coached influencers to create native content that drove significant results, leading to increased brand awareness, app downloads, and user engagement, resulting in improved acquisition and retention metrics.

Furthermore, I developed and executed marketing campaigns from concept to reporting, optimizing the acquisition, activation, and retention funnel through targeted messaging, creative assets, and strategic channel selection. This resulted in improved retention rates and increased user engagement. I also implemented local Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives that positively impacted brand goodwill in the local community, enhancing customer loyalty and retention.

Managing multiple social media campaigns, including organic posting and boosted campaigns, I produced engaging and original content that drove user engagement, resulting in increased retention and repeat usage. I created and delivered campaign briefs with detailed KPIs, budgets, and expected results, consistently achieving or exceeding campaign goals, and driving improved acquisition and retention performance.

I conducted thorough QA checks on campaigns for accuracy, including design, copy, audience selections, tracking URLs, and offer details, and delivered proofs to the team for review and sign-off, ensuring error-free campaign execution. I also conducted tests of different ideas and executions, identified the best-performing assets, and optimized campaigns based on data-driven insights, resulting in improved acquisition and retention performance.

Growth Marketing Manager

Bolt

As a seasoned Country Manager at Bolt, I successfully led the strategic geographical expansion, adding 2 new cities to our operations, and achieving consistent month-over-month (MoM) growth of 32% nationwide.

I implemented effective P&L optimization strategies, turning around a negative 123% net rate to a positive 36%, and driving significant EBITDA growth of over 60% MoM.

I also spearheaded growth marketing and lifecycle marketing initiatives, resulting in improved user retention and substantial expansion of our new user base. As a result, Bolt's app climbed to second place in iOS downloads, driving exponential business growth.

In addition, I played a pivotal role in steering regulatory conversations, advocating for the ride-hailing sector, and contributing to the traffic and road safety act 1998 (Amendment Act 2020), shaping the industry's regulatory landscape for the future.

Country Manager

As the focal person for market-centric decisions, I successfully coordinated local, regional, and global teams to drive the success of the Uganda market at Bolt (formerly Taxify). This involved working closely with other company units such as marketing, regulation & policy, product team, and campaigns team to gather market-based input and implement strategies to achieve desired success rates.

As the owner of Bolt Uganda's P & L, I diligently monitored the budget and performance to ensure that we achieved the desired sustainability level. I played a pivotal role in product development and improvement, ensuring that our product offerings aligned with the market needs and demands.

A key aspect of my role was setting challenging targets for myself and my team, driving them towards achieving Bolt's deliverables within Uganda. This involved setting performance metrics, providing guidance and support, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
