The charge role also includes mastering communication about patient status to incoming nursing shift and to physicians,  institute emergency procedures as necessary and supervising the delivery of care in a nursing unit.  Also continuing to work in a high risk OB setting, caring for a patient population with a wide variety of diagnoses such as and not limited to diabetic, pre-eclamptic & pre-term labor patients. Cross-trained in 3 separate units that include Labor & Delivery, Antepartum and Post Partum.  Cultivated the skill of supporting and caring for patients dealing with grief and loss of an infant. During this time on the unit I was a primary preceptor of new staff members, learning the component of education and nursing.

RN2 4NE Medical-Surgical unit at UWMC. Completed a New-Grad residency program on a Medical-Surgical unit that laid a basic foundation to fundamental nursing care. Here I gained experience on a unit specializing in neurology, neurosurgery, otolaryngology and abdominal surgery patients. It is during this time that I learned to mastered the skill of multitasking on a high-risk unit while honing in on active clinical judgment.
