I studied art criticism at academy of arts. currently working as a field coordinator at General authority of culture palaces. and I also served as project coordinator for the project of cultural development for the Egyptian countryside. Responsible for coordinating, consolidating, and ensuring smooth implementation of program and operations activities and supervise the achievement of projects expected results and contribute in the achievement of projects objectives to achieve program impact. and adherence to logistic, human resource, administration and security procedures. and contribute in the achievement of projects objectives. participated in the first batch of 2063 Pan Africa School.

I possess a unique combination of creativity and analytical skills, enabling me to design innovative cultural initiatives that resonate with various audiences. my background in art criticism enhances my ability to critically evaluate projects and ensure they are not only artistically compelling but also socially relevant. i am eager to contribute my expertise to organizations dedicated to cultural enrichment and community development. my ability to collaborate across disciplines and foster relationships allows me to bring diverse voices together, creating enriching experiences that celebrate and promote culture.

African Intangible Cultural Heritage

The Mwazindika spiritual dance is a traditional practice used to promote individual and communal well-being amongst the Daida community. It combines dance, music, ritual and storytelling, and is performed during important events such as rites of passage, harvests, coronations and times of crisis like droughts or floods. Its purpose is to bring healing, protection and spiritual balance. The practice begins with a preliminary ritual called ‘Kahua’, where twelve elders and youth climb a sacred hill to inform their ancestors of an upcoming Mwazindika event. Drums are made from a sacred tree, and herbs for cleansing are prepared. A traditional beverage made of honey and sugarcane is offered as libation to the ancestors.
The dance features rhythmic drumming, singing and movements that can lead participants into trance states, often used to express or reveal their condition. The dance is primarily performed by women, while men lead the drumming and rituals. The related knowledge and skills are transmitted informally through family and community teaching, regular performances and festivals. The element is believed to promote physical, mental and spiritual well-being. It is also regarded as a means of strengthening social solidarity and warding off disasters and misfortune.

African Intangible Cultural Heritage

Gifaataa is a New Year festival celebrated by the Wolaita community between mid-September and early October. Before the festival starts, people clean their surroundings and return home to be with their families. Disputes are resolved peacefully in preparation for the new year. On the main day of the festival, families come together to share raw meat and local beer and to receive blessings from elders. In the evenings, the community gathers around a bonfire for rituals, singing and dancing. The festival lasts ten days ends with a large community celebration known as ‘goolo-igetta’, which includes horse riding, music and final blessings from elders.
There are specific gender and age roles associated with Gifaataa. Girls help their mothers prepare traditional food and drinks and decorate houses, while boys assist their fathers with tasks like collecting firewood, building bonfires and repairing homes. Elders promote social harmony, resolving conflicts, advising on farming techniques and offering blessings. The knowledge and skills related to Gifaataa are passed down within families through participation in the festivities, and by schools, local media and cultural organizations. The practice promotes intergenerational connection, peace, unity and solidarity. It also provides an opportunity for youth to choose marriage partners.
