I specialise in one niche area of recruitment training.

It's in producing effective job advertisements, which is delivered (alongside Jackie Barrie) through our popular 'Copywriting for Recruiters' training programme. 

I define a 'job advertisement' as any piece of content intended to attract people to a job opening - doesn't matter if it's a job posting, email, Inmail or social media post. With some minor modifications, it could even be a phone conversation.

It's suitable for recruiters at any level of experience, agency or inhouse; assuming they regularly work on job vacancies that need to be sold well if they're going to attract the best candidates.

The training can be done individually (online) or as a group (online + a live workshop).

You don't need to be a good writer to learn how to produce good job adverts, however our training may be the first step in you becoming one.

Every job ad sends out two messages:

1. What you say
2. What you sound like

Most recruiters only think about the first one.

But tone (the stuff between the lines) gives your target candidates clues about what it might be like to work there.

Take these two intros:

Same intent. Completely different vibe.

One sounds like pressure. The other sounds like balance.

The words you choose quietly shape perception of things like leadership, workload and culture. And that's before they even reach the “About Us” section.

Read your ad out loud. Does it sound like a place you’d want to work?

If not, try rewriting the first couple of paragraphs the way you'd actually say them to a candidate. The second it feels conversational, the whole ad immediately becomes more human.
