I used music to help me through addiction, burnout and grief.

Because my healing was profound I developed & trademarked a system of tools that uses music as a basis for transformation. I call it Intuitive Music Programming (TM)

It started when I reflected on my childhood, particularly my teenage years when I noticed that in heartbreak I would listen to very specific types of music. 

Test this. 
Ask anybody “what was the song of your first heartbreak?”
Everybody will remember it. 

Because the song accompanied you when you were at your most vulnerable
Music understood exactly what you were feeling without explanation
Music accompanied how you were feeling in your heartbreak 
Music did this without trying to save or rescue you
Music helped you regulate your emotions

When you intentionally listen to music, it connects you with your deeper knowing. Call it intuition.

With conscious awareness, you leverage this deep connection to reprogram unhealthy patterns of thinking & behaviour to realign the trajectory of your life. 

Journalling to the right music deepens the practice because you gain access to the unconscious & subconscious layers of your mind. 

With music you drop into your body & your felt experience. 
It's no longer a narrative, but a reality because you're out of the overthinking mind and in your body. 
From here you reprogram belief systems & rewrite the narratives that influence your lived experiences.

Your body listens to everything your mind thinks. How many times you've told yourself to change your behaviour & consistently failed?

Through Bessel Vander Kolk's book “Body Keeps the Score” we know whilst you can change your mind, the body remains trapped in a time capsule from the past.

What's the best decision you've made this year?


Without a doubt in my top 3 is joining MKK 3. 
No question.

As an introvert, I usually dread networking events.

Too noisy. 
Too transactional. 
Too many surface-level conversations.

But MKK felt different.

From the moment I walked in to the open house in February and attended following sessions in shorts & slippers (inspired by head Kuli Eric Siew) I felt something rare in the air : REALNESS (aka Authenticity)

🧊 Eric broke the ice by asking : 
 "When was the last time you cried in front of someone?"

💨 Then Daniel Goh followed with :
 "When was the last time you farted in front of someone?"
Yup. That happened 😝 

And suddenly, I wasn’t anxious anymore. I was laughing REALLY LOUD. I felt safe to be me unapologetically. 

We all want to belong. And at some level we hide parts of ourselves to fit in. Something not required here.

That’s what MKK is. Not just a festival or another networking space.

✨ It’s a living, breathing community of humans who see you.
✨ A space where your mission matters more than your job title.
✨ A room where curiosity replaces competition and vulnerability is celebrated.

I had meaningful convos about Human Design, music, artistry, wellbeing, tattoos, leadership and healing.

I hugged people I’d only ever seen in comment sections.

And I left feeling lighter, clearer and more connected.

And you do the same for others.

Maybe it’s time to stop pretending you *Can’t Get (You) Out of My Head*. The expectations, roles and accolades you’re told mark success

Maybe it’s time to start feeling *Like a Virgin* again - raw, awake & alive 😜 

To give yourself permission to *Holiday* on your own *La Isla Bonita* 🏝️ 

A place you remember *That’s the Way Love Goes*

Because love was never meant to be tamed.

It’s *The Loco-Motion* of the heart 🚂 
Magnificently messy, playful & *Runaway* real.

You crave connection; *Someone To Call My Lover*
But end up *Beautiful Strangers* to yourself and to each other.

Addiction wasn’t my rebellion. 
It was my surrender. 

Just another mask when the nakedness of my pain felt too unbearable.

Most people think belonging will feel like ease.
Like silk sheets on tired skin.

Like finally exhaling after holding your breath too long.

Belonging doesn’t begin with comfort.
It begins with truth.

But truth rarely arrives softly.
It tears down the masks you’ve worn.
The polite yes when your gut is screaming no.
The smile you paste on when you’re breaking inside.

The shrinking of your voice so you won’t be called “too much.”

Those masks buy you temporary safety.
But it’s the safety of a cage.

And I know the price of that cage. Maybe you do too.

When rejection left me feeling disconnected, I turned to alcohol and drugs. At first it was social. “Harmless occasional” I said.

 I told myself it was “balance”. After all I worked out 7 days a week, ate clean and “earned “my addiction.

But the truth was brutal.
I wasn’t using it for pleasure.
I was using to survive the pain of not belonging.

Addiction wasn’t my rebellion. That was a lie I told myself. Addiction was my surrender. It was another mask I took off when the nakedness of my pain felt too unbearable.

What I know now is this : 

The moment you stop chasing comfort, the possibility of true belonging finally arrives.

Not because you blended in, but because you refuse to.
Not because you erased your fire, but because you let it burn.

A wise elder once called me I’m an "Ambassador of Language". 

My gift is to take what feels complex and unreachable and turn it into words that meet you where you are. Words you can live with, test and embody. 

I help misfits, seekers and leaders stop shrinking themselves for approval and start standing tall in their truth. 

Belonging isn't found in comfort.
It’s found in the pulse of your truth and the fire that’s been waiting for you to trust it.

When I began this work, I realised how often my over-giving was a way to be accepted.

Acknowledged.
To Belong.

It looked generous, but it came from survival.

But only when I learned to give from overflow and NOT depletion did my relationships deepen instead of deplete me.

Burnout prevention here isn’t about closing your heart but giving with boundaries.

Because when you show up from that place, your love isn’t about performing to fit in. It’s purposeful presence.

Five Reason to Unfollow me (and One to Stay)

You didn’t lose yourself all at once.
You lost yourself piece by piece, every time you abandoned yourself to be acceptable.

For most of my life, I wore identities like armour.
✨ The good daughter
✨ The Reliable Leader
✨ The Fixer, the Achiever, the Strong one

They kept me safe. They got me praise. They helped me succeed.
But they also silenced the parts of me that didn’t fit the role.

My joy became too loud. My anger became too much. My sensitivity became inconvenient.

So I buried them.
All of them.

Not because I wanted to but because somewhere along the way, I learned that being lovable meant being less of myself.

That’s the thing about survival - it teaches you to contort, not to connect.
And when I arrived at success with the title, house & status, I realised it wasn’t me who had arrived.

Because I couldn’t FEEL any of it. It was just a mask. An outfit I wore. A role I was playing in someone else's movie.

Family Constellation work didn’t just peel back the layers.It helped me see  whose voice was underneath.

My mother’s sacrifices.
My father’s silence.
My lineage of ancestors who gave everything and still felt unworthy.

No wonder I couldn’t feel the joy I had earned.
It wasn’t mine.
It was their's.

And the only way forward was to give it back with love.

The men I work with often realise they’ve inherited the role of protector so deeply they’ve forgotten how to receive. They’ve built everything for others and lost themselves in the process.

The women I guide often remember the wild, radiant version of themselves only after we unravel the guilt, grief and generations of over-giving.

This is how we become ourselves again. Not by reinventing but by releasing.

The next time you feel numb in a life that looks good pause and ask : 

What part of me did I bury to become who I thought I needed to be?

That’s where your beauty lives.

What kept you safe as a child is keeping you stuck as an adult.

Especially when silence is what was taught = love.

I didn’t realise I was being loyal because I thought I was being strong.
Helpful.
Low-maintenance.
The one who always knew what to do.

But what I was really doing was betraying my own needs in service of someone else’s comfort.

It’s common in Asian families for silence to mean safety.
Self-sacrifice = love.
Strength means never showing pain.

So I learned to be pleasant instead of honest.
Capable instead of supported.
Valued by shrinking myself.

And I was rewarded for it.
The job.

Success

But underneath the life I had built, was someone who never truly felt free.

You don’t have to keep pretending you’re OK

For years, I thought my ability to hold it all together made me strong. I could stay composed through crises, negotiate under pressure & manage emotions no one else could handle.

But beneath the calm was tension. A jaw tight, grinding my teeth while I sleep, breathing shallow, a racing mind from the moment I wake up in the morning and jumping out of bed as soon as my alarm goes off.

The thing about armour is it keeps you safe, but it also keeps you separate.

When I finally began to soften, I realised how much energy it had taken to “be fine.” How much of my identity was built on holding it all together so no one would see me fall apart.

Then there were the times I felt nothing at all.

The freeze.

The silence that wrapped around me like fog. 
For a long time I called it strength
Now I know it was protection.

Because sometimes the body’s way of surviving is to shut down just enough to keep you alive.

And when you start to feel again it means your system finally believes it’s safe to.

This is the powerful, vulnerable truth of healing
The goal isn’t to never armour up.
It’s to know when to put it down.

One breath at a time.
One unclenching at a time.

Because real power isn’t found in control but in the courage to feel.

Burnout isn’t always about overworking


For me, it came from abandoning myself.

Chasing success, love and recognition while ignoring what my gut was screaming.

Human Design taught me what it means to live “sacrally” . Guided by my GUT response (yup, not everyone has this!!!)

To listen to my inner “yes”, trust my natural rhythm & lead with joy unapologetically

It showed me who I truly am beneath the roles, titles and expectations.

Not the version of me that was built to please.
The one that was born to be.

Family Constellations took me even deeper.
It helped me see why I kept betraying myself in the first place and how my patterns weren’t random, but inherited.

Ways of surviving passed down through the generations.

Conditioning wrapped in love.

Just because my parents lived a certain way doesn’t mean I have to.

And choosing differently doesn’t mean I don’t honour them.

It simply means I’m breaking a cycle, lovingly.

Now I guide others through the same process.

Because burnout isn’t solved by doing more.

It’s resolved by being seen, understood and guided back to your natural design.

Being you fully, freely & unapologetically is your greatest gift.

It’s also your truest form of wealth.

The Frequency That Keeps You Stuck


You can meditate & eat clean.
You can try to “self-care” your way through the burnout.

Here’s something you didn’t know about sound :

In 1939, the world changed its sound.
Literally.

The global music standard was shifted from 432 Hz (the natural vibration of the Earth and the human heartbeat) to 440 Hz, a sharper, artificial frequency that pulls your body slightly out of tune with itself.

Since then?
Anxiety has become normal.

You can’t heal burnout by moving faster.


You heal it by remembering who you are beneath the noise you've learned to "deal" with but is silently stealing your peace.

I came across this teaching whilst on retreat :

“Only when the mind is silent can we realise our true nature - the effortless Being of the Self.”

Woah deeeeeep, you might think. But it isn’t really. Stay with me for a few minutes….

For most of my life, silence terrified me.

In the quiet, I could hear the parts of myself I had learned to suppress like grief as well as the questions and longings I had buried under productivity.

So I filled the silence. 
With achievements and the kind of busyness that kept me safe from myself.

But the more I’ve leaned into knowing my Human Design and practices like yoga and using music as a foundation for self reflection, the more I’ve discovered that silence isn’t empty at all.

It’s full of memories.
Full of truth.
Full of the Self I had forgotten in all the striving.

And in that silence, I’ve found glimpses of something deeper :

✨ A peace that isn’t earned
✨ A belonging that doesn’t depend on approval
✨ A freedom that comes not from doing, but from being

This is the paradox. 

What feels hardest, like slowing down, being still & listening turns out to be the doorway back to who we really are.

Burnout happens when we forget that Being is enough.
Recovery begins when we remember.

The mind settles
The silence speaks
And the Self remembers

The benefits of going on retreat are still unfolding. 

It’s providing me with a deeper sense of purpose. It’s reassuring me that breathing life into my “Holidays with Intention” Retreats in 2026 isn’t the right thing to do but a choice that will support both myself and others to put right what has been misaligned for so much of their lives.

A choice that builds true wealth in a life that feels free and is fuelled by joy

Who are they? The voices in my head!

If anyone ever said to me “one day you’ll be a meditation teacher” I would’ve laughed in their face

Never say never

4 years ago I did a Meditation Teacher Training and it challenged every limiting belief I had about meditating, including beliefs I didn’t know I had.

🧘‍♀️ Meditation is a tool for mindfulness. 
Since 2021 I’ve run countless Mindfulness and sound healing sessions both live and in-person. Each session is themed and focused on introducing Meditation as a gateway to Mindfulness. 

What’s the difference?

MINDFULNESS is a state of awareness being fully present with what’s happening right now, without judgment. You can practice mindfulness while walking, washing dishes, listening to music, or having a conversation.

MEDITATION on the other hand, is one of the formal practices that helps you train that muscle of awareness. It’s like going to the gym for your mind. When you meditate, you strengthen your ability to observe thoughts, sensations, and emotions as they arise which makes it easier to stay mindful in daily life.

Simply:
🧘‍♀️ Meditation = the practice
🌿 Mindfulness = the way of being that grows from consistent practice

You can be mindful without meditating, but meditation deepens mindfulness because it helps you move from “momentary awareness” to “embodied presence.”

My next Mindfulness Circle & Sound Bath session is next Saturday 1st November at hoHm, a beautiful space in PJ.

Why I do this? Because mindfulness & sound baths are incredible resources for mental and emotional well being

Mindfulness has been instrumental in helping me regulate my ADHD type brain and navigate my sometimes volatile emotional responses to life

Mindfulness with Sound combined helps you reconnect with the mischievous and innocent spirit of your Inner Child who always sees the world with wonder and delight.

Meditation is only the practice.

You start to see possibilities, not problems.
Solutions, not stories.
And your body begins to soften.

That’s the power of mindfulness. It’s not just about mindset because that’s only one layer. True mindfulness reaches beneath the mind, into the body and breath.

It rebalances the nervous system.
It restores your natural rhythm.
And it prevents the quiet burnout that creeps in when you’re constantly “on.”
