I got very frustrated having to sell products to prawn sandwich eaters and rich kids and wanted my knowledge of investing and personal finances to help anyone regardless of their background or current wealth.

Here is the journey so far: 

Worked in dead end jobs until age 28 
Worked as a Stock Broker in the city in London
Workedas a Chartered Financial Planner in Scotland
Personally invested since 2008 in individual stocks

 It’s been some journey

Greggs shares have fallen from £32 to £16

Because the market fears weight loss jabs are destroying sales

The sales growth has been declining and remember the market loves companies that can grow 

Many analysts and even Greggs themselves are aware of the weight loss pill 💊 effect

Because some of Greggs most loyal customers will have goje from soending money daily…to soending little or nothing!!

This is why I am always talking in my content about knowing when to buy a stock and when to sell is so important 

It’s not that Greggs will stop selling sausage rolls 

But it won’t be selling more of them so the PE ratio drops….because the excitement around that growth tails off

It’s a bigger concern for the food industry

Anyone else tired of showing up online?

Should we bring back the yellow pages and make it easy? 🤣

80% of the worlds transactions are still in cash 💰 

Yet people think A.I will take over tomorrow 

£286 billion was wiped from Tech stocks last week who apparently after years of building up key customer relationships will lose them all as they sign everything over to a bot? 

That’s very unlikely to happen 

I’m not saying it won’t happen way in the future ….but not immediately 

I have clients who don’t trust computers never mind A.I 😂

Things take time to change 

The electric car was invented in the 1970’s

And most of us still don’t have one 

Don’t panic selling stocks without looking at the numbers these companies are doing

Because large profits and wealth mean these companies can rule the A.I market easier than the minnows trying to disrupt

And they have built up years of trust

My first clients both worked in Television

To be honest I was a bit shocked as one of them was famous 

I wasn’t shocked because they were famous but more because I would have thought over the years many people could have helped them with their finances and investing

Infact the biggest shock was their employer being world famous and not having help on hand 🙈

But it made me realise that people are out there working hard and often bury their head in the sand 

Until they realise their friends are talking about retiring at 50 and they think…

“God I’ll be working until I’m 75”

So they do what they’ve been putting off for years 

They reach out to finally talk money

They start investing 

Then they don’t have to think too much about money again 😃

Right. I'm going to say something and I need you to actually hear it.
 
Not skim it. Not read it while you're scrolling on your phone.
 
Actually.. Hear... it
 
If you've got money hibernating in a savings account right now...
 
Inflation is eating it alive.
 
Not in some catastrophic, headlines on the BBC kind of way.
 
Just quietly. Slowly. Every day like a sneaky gremlin nibbling away at the purchasing power of your cash while you sleep.
 
Cheerful, right?
 
Here's where it gets outrageous.
 
The average savings account is handing out around 1–2% interest.
 
"But that's at least something Martin!" I hear you cry. 
 
Oh it is...but let me introduce you to The Rule of 72. (Bear with me please.)
 
Divide 72 by your interest rate return and it tells you how many years until you double your money.
 
At 1% interest? Yes you guessed it 72 divided by 1= 72 years.
 
SEVENTY. TWO. YEARS.
 
At 0.5%? That’s right….. 144 years!!!
 
By which point you’ll be dead or it can buy… one oat milk latte. Maybe.
 
And here's the part that gets me. 
 
It's not your fault. Nobody taught us this.

Not school (quadratic equations 101)
Not parents ( nobody taught them either) 
Not the banks because let's be honest, they have very little incentive to 👀

We were told to trust the system and Save what you can. 

So we did, because what were we supposed to do with zero info and zero guidance?

We played by the rules of a game we didn't know we were slowly losing.

I found a way out of that trap. 

All the things I wish someone had shoved in front of my face about 15 years earlier is in my Beginners Stock Market Investing course.

No jargon. No complex sh*t. No points deducted for not knowing what a derivative is (Spoiler: nobody needs to know what a derivative is 😉).

Just the simple stuff.. that actually works.

The worst clients I had as a Stock Broker were highly intelligent Surgeons

They never listened to anything I said because they were used to being right

They had a huge ego and EGO is devastating to an investor

They would constantly buy more of Stocks which were falling because they had figured out that they were going to make millions

I advised them otherwise....that these stocks were falling because their profits were turning to losses and they were releasing more shares to fund their existence

They kept buying ad the share price fell further and further

Who was I to listen to? 

I wasn't an Oxford graduate...I was a jock from up North...just place the trade Jock for another 250k please  

Because in the operating theatre they were always right

Remember that the Stock Market doesn't reward your arrogance it rewards great numbers over time

I see founders wasting sh*tloads of money on fancy Finance apps which will be useless to 95% of people

Because if apps truly worked wouldn't everybody be the correct weight?

Yes they contain lots of great info about where you can buy investments or what products are cheapest etc

Spoiler: any google search can do that 😊 

It's like me saying...... here is the shop that sells guitars and here are some of the best guitars to play

It means nothing!!!!.... because their is a large gap in your knowledge

That gap can't be answered by a robot or by an app quickly 😕 

Because the app can't answer all the questions you are going to come across and help you truly understand how to properly plan your money and understand investing

They are trying to help.....but sadly it's just noise they are creating and more problems for 95% of you

Because real people helping you is the only way for most of us to learn

Anyone can learn to play golf or guitar from a book....but how many truly can?

You are right....close to fecking zero

So instead of downloading apps and more noise reach out to someone who can help in the field that you need help in 😉
