I am Marelys Garcia. I am an Engineer and a fan of learning who became a learning facilitator, a coach, & an entrepreneur.   

While in IBM, I was certified in facilitation and leadership techniques due to my curiosity & pursuit of continue learning trends about the individual and its impact and influence on organizations success. This led to the creation of Mindslines together with other collaborators and friends with a common vision: to create a space to share our what we’ve learned through our careers, our experiences in leadership, and our professional expertise, with young managers commencing their journey into leadership.

Our leadership program is designed to help those starting their career in management, develop the skills required to become the leaders of today and tomorrow. Our three-part journey takes leaders from foundational leadership concepts to the development of new competences, harnessing them through application and reflection. Our method of learning facilitation is inspired in the changed-induce transformative learning model to help new leaders learn and develop the confidence to apply the learnings into their environment to generate results and experience true transformation.

Existen menos líderes que jefes.
Y es un problema gordo.

Las empresas preparan más a sus equipos para ser jefes, y menos para ser líderes.

Es el resultado de sobrevalorar las hard skills y subestimar las soft skills.
Ambas son importantes, pero si queremos que los managers de hoy sean los líderes del mañana, debemos entender que el verdadero crecimiento está en las habilidades humanas.

Estas son las tres en las que pondría el foco para desarrollar a mi equipo,
y que considero esenciales en cualquier programa de liderazgo:

→ Inteligencia emocional.
Porque liderar empieza por entenderte a ti mismo y comprender a los demás.
La empatía, la autoconciencia y la gestión emocional son lo que realmente sostienen a un equipo en los momentos difíciles.

→ Comunicación consciente.
No se trata de hablar más, sino de comunicar con propósito.
Dar contexto, escuchar activamente y crear claridad son las bases de una cultura que avanza unida.

→ Pensamiento adaptativo.
Los entornos cambian, los retos también.
El liderazgo se mide en la capacidad de tomar decisiones en la incertidumbre sin perder dirección ni calma.

Porque las estrategias cambian.
Las herramientas evolucionan.
Pero las personas siguen siendo el centro de todo liderazgo que trasciende.

no te hace duro: 𝘁𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼.

No te sientas mal por hacerlo.

El 𝟮 𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗯𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 fue un día que difícilmente olvidaré.

Allí estaba yo, rodeada de mujeres extraordinarias, de líderes del gobierno de 𝗠𝗶𝗮𝗺𝗶-𝗗𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗱𝗼 𝗱𝗲 𝗹𝗮 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮, de personalidades, emprendedores, y empresarios, y de una energía que solo se siente cuando algo verdaderamente importante está ocurriendo. Ese día, gracias a la labor de 𝗖𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗖𝗢𝗠 – 𝗖𝗮́𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗼 𝗱𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝗷𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝗻 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗱𝗼𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗱𝗼𝘀 𝗱𝗲 𝗔𝗺𝗲́𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮, se proclamó oficialmente el 𝗗𝗶́𝗮 𝗱𝗲 𝗹𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝗷𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗲𝗻 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮. Gracias Yamilet Rivas  por tu liderazgo y visión. 

Participé como ciudadana, como mujer hispana, y también como sponsor a través de 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀, mi emprendimiento dedicado a acompañar el desarrollo de líderes y equipos. Pero, sobre todo, participé como testigo de un hecho histórico: el reconocimiento de la inmensa contribución de las mujeres hispanas al crecimiento, la cultura y la identidad de este país.

Mientras escuchaba los discursos, charlaba y escuchaba tantas historias de esfuerzo y superación, pensaba en todas las mujeres que nos abrieron camino… y en las que vienen detrás. Porque celebrar este día no es solo mirar lo que hemos logrado, sino comprometernos a seguir abriendo espacio, apoyándonos y creciendo juntas.
