I have never seen an organization suffer because it couldn’t write code fast enough.
I have seen plenty suffer because no one stopped to ask:
 “Should this work the way it does?”

Code generation lowered the barrier to typing.
It didn’t lower the barrier to THINKING.

Here’s the thing no one is noticing:
Most damage doesn’t come from wrong answers.
It comes from answers that arrive before the question is finished.

When something shows up already written, already working, already confident, the room changes.
People don’t argue with it. They adjust around it.
Not because they agree, but because disagreeing now feels like being “difficult.”

So the real shift isn’t technical.
It’s social.

Speed has quietly flipped the burden of proof.

Earlier, you had to justify building something.
Now you have to justify STOPPING it.

That single reversal explains most of the mess we are about to see.

The strongest people in the next few years won’t be the ones who can produce faster.
They’ll be the ones who can still pause a room & say,
 “Wait. Let’s talk about this before it becomes real.”

That sounds small.

It isn’t.

Almost no one is doing it anymore.

AI decided.

AI will keep deciding faster.

The only question is whether
anyone is still willing to own the consequences.

I am not suggesting “don’t code.”
And I doubt Yann LeCun is either.

The real distinction is simpler.

If you only code,
you inherit someone else’s understanding.

If you only theorize,
you never pay the price of being wrong.

Intelligence emerges only when all four are present: 👇
